Amen is the alpha, or that's what we're banking on. Alpi, unless he adds range and actually starts shooting instead of pump faking, is never going to be a reliable go to guy.

That said, KD's shooting and efficiency is going to open up the court. Jabari may be the guy that benefits the most from this trade. Hopefully Ime uses him more on offense and he can expand his game enough to take the next step.

I do think that Cam Whitmore can operate as a cheap SG on the 2nd rotation. My bet is we try to get a SG like Giddey or Brown and FVV comes back at a better price.

So FO thinks the core is Sengun, Amen, Tari and maybe Bari. Team will be built around defense and hustle. If we keep Sheppard, he needs big time development. Could Stone pull off getting Dyson Daniels or Derrick White?

Would we pursue Anfernee Simons in 2026?

I meant Alpi instead of Bari.

I'm not mad about the trade in any way, but it's also hard to get too excited about a 37 year old Durant who's teams have all been disappointments since leaving the Warriors. The Rockets should be better, but the last 2 teams that traded for Durant looked like favorites to contend for a title at the time of the trade and didn't get close. So I'm not nearly as excited today as I would have been if the trade happened 3 or more years ago.

Rockets should win the trade at least for the next year, but after that Durant was going to leave the Suns for nothing if they didn't trade him. He wasn't going to accept a trade anywhere he didn't want to go, so they were never getting anything close to what they gave up for him. If the Rockets have to give Durant a max length, max money contract extension there is significant risk going forward.

Green won us 10 games at least by himself last season. He was #8 in SG defense. His absence will be felt.

I never said before. But who knows what Phx will put together next year. Phx thought they were buying themselves a chip when they traded for Durant and that didn't work out so well for them.

We have so many young dynamic defenders, our problem was needing a shooter on the floor.

It's a blessing for the rest of Clutchfans.

There wont be a "Chapter 95: Jalen Finally Doesn't Make His Teammates Worse, Does This Mean He's Now An MVP Candidate?"

You make this trade for KD 10 out of 10 times. Cmon dude, we have to be one of the favorites for a title now

I’m just not super worried about his age. I know that doesn’t make a lot of sense, but we aren’t going to be asking a ton from him.

we can make his life easy on defense and statistically he still flushes out as an impactful player on defense in the interior.

we need him to rise up and hit shots and we need him to make good passes.

if this is for a 1-year rental, than terrible. if it is for a few seasons, than good.

Until you look at Durants injury history. I am so anti Jalen Green though I am glad we didn't have to give up much to get out from underneath that contract. Overall a great trade.

One of the few things that worries me is the unexpected drop off you get with older stars like KD. He might give us one elite year but drop to role player status the next two years (if he gets that extension), but lucky for the Rockets is they have high potential young players who can make that leap to fill in the gap of KD's eventually decline.
