So the team was better off against the Warriors with Green not shooting well and playing like a shrinking violet than a proven shooter/scorer like KD?

You dont think a guy like KD would've been enough for the Rockets to beat the Warriors. I would've really liked to see a lineup of Alpi/Smith/KD/Amen/FVV against the Warriors, with Tari/Adams/a healthy Sheppard off of the bench.

    @Snow Villiers video above

•"I had an idea but didn't know exactly when it was gonna happen."
•"Being able to dictate what you wanna do and a team values you, looking forward to it."
•Did you have a hand? “Most definitely. They asked where I wanted to go, gave some destinations and here we are.”
•Why Houston? “Great season last year, love their leadership, felt like I'd be a good addition."
•How dangerous? “We shall see. Won 50+ games last year but it takes time, effort, execution.”
•Message to Suns fans? “They wanted me to go so they got what they wanted, I got what I wanted. We can move on. We on to something else.”

WTF is up with five 2nd rounders?

Didn't want to give up #10 as well, it is what it is though.

This means the expectations are now championship. I do think we have some good vet leadership with KD and FVV and Adams now but I hope we can make another move for another veteran on this roster.

Whether that is flipping Cam who I still don't think will play or through FA.

Underrated part of this is that it paves the way for development of Sheppard, and hopefully Cam, with minutes.

We'll still need to pray that 1-2 more of the young guys can get their 3 point shooting up to 36% range.

Its not barkleyish. The whole rockets team was old and then added an old barkley to top it off. This isnt the same at all. And kevin durant skillset is the essential skillset we lack.

    "not necessarily better"

Here's something to help you sleep at night.

Imagine every single time Jalen Green shot the ball.

Now picture Kevin Durant shooting it instead.

    Not necessarily better? Yikes.

I'm not excited at all. People keep saying Durant is a needle mover but he moved the needle backwards for both the Nets (who were in a similar position of being a young over-achieving team) and the Suns (who had recently been to the Finals). He led both of those teams to to catastrophe and implosion - and now he's going to be 37 (and he's been injury prone for what? 10 years?). I don't mind getting rid of Jalen. I am of the opinion that might just be addition by subtraction with guys like Cam and Reed on the roster - but I hate seeing Dillon go. We sent out one of the toughest sons of b****es in the league for one of the softest in league history. Doesn't seem consistent with our identity. I can also accept giving them back the #10, not even because I think Durant is worth that at this point, but because with all the young talent we have currently, we don't really need another young guy. But 5 second rounders seems like a lot as the salary cap becomes so difficult to navigate and top teams seem to be thriving by drafting late 1st round and second round gems. I guess we are counting on our first rounders for that?

Now, I'll go ahead and entertain the other side of the spectrum. We just became huge. A starting lineup of Fred, Amen, Jabari, Durant and Sengun is nuts. That's basically three 7 footers and a 6'7 guy who defends like he's 7'6. Our shooting just improved. Dillon was our best 3 point shooter, but Durant is one of the best shooters in league history. And his gravity ought to make things more open for guys like Jabari and Fred and even make things in the post easier for guys like Sengun, Amen, Tari and even Stevo. Meanwhile, we still have Steven Adams, Tari Eason, Reed Sheppard, and Cam Whitmore on the bench. And Holiday and Landale are there too if we want them. I can imagine all of that being a nightmare for other teams, and I can see how it would have been difficult for the Warriors to beat that - because Durant definitely wouldn't have just had a single 30 point game performance and then put up 6 stinkers.

I will say that they better load manage the hell out of this dinosaur. Maybe like 28 minutes per game and no back to backs. If this is the move we've made, we need to make sure he's healthy and ready to go in the playoffs. And I hope to god that KD isn't the defacto leader of this team just because he's KD. His leadership clearly sucks, as evidenced by what happened in Phoenix and Brooklyn and even what happened at the end of his tenure in OKC when he got beat by Golden State and just gave up on leading a team at all and joining them so he could coat tail ride to a championship.

I'm going to hope for the best outcome here, by my gut reaction to this news was "At least it's not as bad as the Westbrook deal" and that sure as hell isn't a high bar.

A tanking team if I've ever seen one. Hard to project any wins against the West.

Truly an insane opinion that guy has after seeing Green disappear for six games. What made Green so frustrating (at least offensively where all of his value is) is that he didn't attack the rim when his shot wasn't falling. That cowardly play destroyed our offensive. Durant will now be able to own outside shot making for us and open the rim for Amen to attack it with abandon. If Sengun can master the mid range, especially the foul line jumper, we've got a total offense.

Keep this in mind when Green defenders are posting his empty calorie stats next season for a losing team.

The Summer has just begun, they could actually trade both Jalen and Dillon and the 10th pick as well......

and be left with 2nd round picks.
