Couple things: 1.) As we've seen quite a few times in sports this decade, commissioners work for the owners. So, while I think Adam Silver would certainly prefer that a KD deal not be leaked on Game 7 day, I wouldn't say it's impossible by any means. Team owners are gonna do what is best for them. 2.) Trades get verbally agreed to in June and not finalized until July (for fiscal-year reasons) all the time. That's what happened with AD to the Lakers in June 2019. Agreed to right after the Finals ended, not finalized until July.
