At the time of signing, there were expectations Jalen would make a jump. But it didn't happen and then he immolated himself in the playoff series. IMO, if Jalen really believed in himself. he would welcome a trade and a fresh start somewhere else.
I'm disappointed with his practice videos. He's doubling more on shooting contested shots fading away.
Soooo, practicing real game scenarios from this past season? These are obvious drills to work on a counter for when he beats his man but runs into a wall and can't get all the way to the rim.
I think it is more tragic that they are still after Durant.....players values go up and down, this isn't worrisome. I always thought Reed Sheppard was a ready player and he wasn't. Would need to find ready young(er) players that fit the timeline.
His real game consists of difficult shots over defenders or forcing straight line layups with defenders which explains his inefficiency. His mentality/shot selection is MJ over Cleveland shot after shot.
Let's all hope and pray, because it doesn't look like anybody else is going to take him off us to see for themselves.
Maybe he can go on his March Jalen run before the deadline this year and some fool takes him off us? Shame all our best narrative spinners don't want us to let him go really, we could've tried to hoodwink some other fanbases into making a narrative.
We're all still waiting for that Zach Lavine and Bradley Beal and Jordan Poole breakout as well. Would be funny.
Jalen did go on his run early this year. And it was dancing in the streets. His only fans preached that he had arrived and that he would hit that March bump and be great. Didn't happen. I was even fooled and wrote that I thought he had turned a corner. After 3 1/2 years of the same thing I fell for it. Part of it was that Jalen seemed to be taking better shots and being more efficient. But then the rest of the season happened and the playoffs. If we don't trade Jalen, then he needs a new role in the offense. Jalen as our top scorer does not work. We almost beat the Warriors with him as our fourth scorer in points but we know that was heavily weighted by his one great game. And Jalen was very rarely doubled in those games when he actually put up a shot. He couldn't drive by Curry or Hield for much of the time. Jalen as our third best scorer behind Sengun and Amen could work. He needs to change his mentality and take better shots.
