LaMelo I think has grown up quite a bit. Not much of a prankster or misfit since he was a kid or teen in his TV days.
I'm not sure exactly what it, but LeMelos playstyle, or demeanor, or something about him makes me irrationally angry. It's not like he's an SGA style foul baiter...he just bugs me.
He commits lots of mistakes with TO’s. He plays no defense. Extremely streaky. 38% FG in MAR. 30% or less in 3P for 3 straight months. He simply isn’t a winning player. Add in that Mr Broken Zion Williamson has played 20 MORE games than Lamelo the past 3 seasons. Compared to Jalen who at least shows durability with a streak of games played in a row
I live in NC and watch a lot of Hornets basketball. LaMelo is ‘no’ for me. He’s averaged 46 games per year throughout his career. He’s not just a little injury prone. He’s redefining the term. On top of that, you have the general streakiness of his play combined with poor effort on defense and qualities that don’t really resemble leadership. Seems like kind of a goofball. Definitely not a leader or the guy you want being your best player, IMO. Bottom line: he’s too talented for Charlotte to deal for any reasonable package we would be willing to offer. Charlotte doesn’t view him as damaged goods.
Really wish the Rockets would've gotten Tyrese Halliburton. He would've solved a lot of issues on the Rockets, being a go to scorer, a leader, playmaker. Wants the Last Shot.
