I can see how this is coming from and I don't totally disagree. But character and intelligence are underrated factors in a player's value. Some people might be able to totally separate their work from their private lives. But those are rare. For most people, how you approach life spills into how you approach work. What kind of person you are mostly determines what kind of choices you make in every aspect of your existence, including how you play the game of basketball.

Harden would be even better with SGA's private choices in wife, kid(s) and stable environment to hoop and chill.

Clear as day and night. Family needs to be defended.....and Defense should be a point of emphasis earlier.

We would be talking about Harden passing Kobe and maybe other greats.

so kinda how people are rude and disrespectful on a message board reflects who they are? When they hurl insults and demean someones character for their personal life choices online, that reflects their work ethic and value correct?

I dont really care whether Jalen stays or goes anymore, thats the truth.

What annoys me the most is getting on a fan site and see nothing but ugly, disgusting and rude remarks that border on pure hatred, from a fair amount of people here but not all obviously.

WE as a community shouldn't tolerate and allow people to consistently make homophobic jokes, or question his personal life, or attack his mental fortitude, just because he has underwhelmed or been paid too much.

Its ugly, despicable behavior and I stand against it nearly every time I have the strength to do so.

I disagree with DD A LOT, but I'm not gonna sit here and let someone else call him derogatory terms without standing up to the person being ugly towards him.

TOO OFTEN we just look the other way and let people on this site just be absolute aids and toxic. I can go to twitter or reddit if I want some low insight toxic bullshiit. I come to clutchfans because this is where most die hards reside, and thats my type of people.

This site, as a collective, needs to do and be better.

That comes with the sport.....or do you see many tennis players with whole body tattoos and looking like gang members.

You are just epitomizing my internet persona for the gang culture, gun culture, hip hop culture, body art culture that is taking manifestation with basketball just like the drugs took the 80s by storm.

And now the queer culture and wokeness as well.

I am just at a point that I don't sugar coat things with guys like Green.

Most of the things were not even about Green but his homers on this board, I also admitted to that many times.

    He is a polarizing figure.

I have made my peace with him. His contract sucks to be fair but I accepted it.

Yes, that's part of it. It's the same principle, IMO. Some people completely separate their real person and their online persona. But most people's personality show on how they interact online.

As the old saying goes: Who you are leaks all around your words.

I agree with you, but sometimes the guys you are defending should be stood up to. DD called Jalen a coward, one of the most despicable things you can call anyone. He continually posts hateful comments about conservatives in a sports forum. I’ve defended DD in the past, but once he crossed the line with his coward post, I no longer feel obligated to be cordial. I’m just as irritated at hate speech against players as posters. In your case, you have chosen to “look the other way” when it comes to DD, but berated everyone else for being toxic. I’m tired of turning the other cheek to jerks like DD, but will gladly refrain from degrading anyone on the forum that does the same.

You think coward is a despicable thing to call someone? I thought that was fairly tame compared to other stuff I've seen.

DD has done worse in the past, quite badly actually and had to take a huge break(ban). HE owned it and came back a better person, and because of this I think he is "trying" to be better. Sure I can agree that he has times of ugliness that leaks out but overall hes just strongly opinionated imo. When he says things like coward or soft or mentally weak, I dont like it, but maybe thats just my biases towards wnating DD to continue being a better person that I choose to let it slide more.

as for politics, idc and will never care or pay attention to what happens over D&D. Politics is a cesspool of hate and intolerance from both sides imo. No one wants to learn or be swayed or change their opinion, they just want to b**** and call the other side wrong.

It’s all subjective. I don’t view coward as tame. It would have resulted in a bludgeoning in my younger years, but that’s just me. You may have a different idea. DD certainly does. I don’t care if you call him soft, weak, blah, blah, blah but coward from an overweight geriatric is a little much. I bet he wouldn’t walk up to Green with nobody else around and say that.
That’s all good. I don’t care what people say in the D&D. I’m more upset when people bring politics in the sports forum, despite the unenforced rules against it. DD still does it more often than most. Most of us want this forum to be a place of respectful debate.

Are we going to pretend that you haven't made a LOT of very suspect posts about people having "afro hair" and the like? Even your comment earlier in this thread about tennis players vs basketball players looks sketchy in context of your previous posts. You really can't claim to be somebody who keeps it about ball, like at all. Smfh.

I will kick in $5000 if we can arrange for Jalen Green to go over to whatever basement DD lives in and kick his ass in front of his landlord.

Hopefully Jalen does the thing where he pulls the moo moo over his head and then beat him up like that that.

Kind of like Bam Margera used to do to his stepfather.

    LOLLLL

I think Jalen Green is the farthest thing from intimidating there is.

Guess you have had headphones on for the past 20 years and have never heard a single word uttered in that time? I cannot fathom the term 'coward' to be so devastating. Guess you're a coward for thinking that. You ok bro?

The extreme victimization of not just Jalen Green but of yourselves homeboys.....is the reason why we are at odds really.

It really is like a Cult or a Boy or Girl Band......where people flock to his every need and feel protective.

I said on many occasions that he is not a bad player and he can improve but do I get any mentions of that?
I say that again to just be on 'record'.

    • Just use your brains and be smarter than this.
    • And not go in on 'Oh you are a Jalen hater, you are a Jater.....you are an offender.'
    • He means nothing to me, he is a millionaire, I am just a regular person, do you really think I care about attacking and maiming him.

I remember all this talk last off-season that the Jalen contract was a tradeable contract. Horse-sh#t.
