Agree. The turnovers I remember best are when he turns his back and tries to back down the defense and someone knocks the ball away. Besides ball handling, he needs additional work on low post moves. This would be good when we play him as a small ball 5.
Aging guy? He is in the niddle of his prime... Develop the guy who can't stay healthy? The one due for an extension? If you want to keep him then you would be making it more expensive to do so.
You said nothing. I don't care what they admit they regret the damn trade and so do nets fans and so would we when he is gone or retired in a year or two. You guys think he's gsw kd and you don't get that without steph. This would be a dumb trade. Just be patient and wait for someone younger. I'm glad stone is no fool.
the waiting game can either bite you in the butt or help you. If the Suns are hellbent on keeping Booker, I'm not entirely sure they're going to be as terrible as some people think. this could have been a down year for all we know. Phoenix can be a free agent destination, the pieces they get from the KD trade from another team can help them, etc. It's part of the reason why I never wanted the deal. Brooklyn is so far away from even competing in the playoffs that their picks would have been golden but Stone thought he had a chance to get Booker.
They are finding it REALLY hard as an organization to work around the fact they had a #2,#3,#4,#3 and other picks and lack a franchise player. It also doesn’t help that it’s being exposed how little value the #2 and #3 picked players have around the league. They really are hoping Amen takes a giant step forward offensively next year or that a young franchise player falls in their lap in trade - which is a longer shot than most realize because SA and OKC have more assets than the Rockets. Time is ticking too - these young guys will be getting over paid soon. At some point attention to detail and actual scouting ability matters and having a law degree and playing at the lowest college degree isn’t enough. Guys like JVG and others that actually coached and played at the highest level were available and ego keep them away.
This feels a little unfair. Jalen was a consensus #2 pick and Jabari was projected #1. Sure these guys aren't franchise players, but it's not as if they weren't highly coveted prospects.
We drafted an all star in Sengun, who may potentially make it many times in the future as he improves. We drafted Amen who is 1st team all defense in his second year with huge star potential. The Rockets were the #2 seed in the tough West with a core age of 23.7 years old of the top 10 in minutes, one of the youngest playoff teams the past decade. Many fanbases would love to swap positions with us or even some perhaps mimicked us like Detroit bringing in a strong coach and vets. Ime came in third for COY and our offense actually improved from #27th under Silas, up seven spots each season, defense became elite and we improved from 22 wins to 52 wins in a few years, one of the best in the NBA. We've far exceeded expectations for how quickly we've rebuilt from a historical standpoint. What are we talking about here? That's amazing progress compared to other historical rebuilds.
Which begs the question how some people in head office's have jobs. Jalen's highlight tape from the G League wasn't even impressive. I queried from day one why people were so hyped. Yet he still hoodwinked this coaching staff into thinking a highlight tape showing him jumping, but showing absolutely zero fundamentals or literally anything else, had them thinking he was a legitimate star. Jalen should be paying 90% of his salary to his PR team because holy hell do they deserve it.
