Ridiculous cherry picking. Comparing how Haliburton, a 39% lifetime 3pt shooter and an all-star, is shooting on one leg versus the NBA's best defense in the finals to Amen is longest reach imaginable.

"shot 50% from the field in the playoffs" lol. Isaiah Hartenstein, your "complete non shooter", has shot 61.5% for the playoffs. Come on man!

Durant probably doesn't even know why he has a desire to go to Miami. No old person does. Florida winds gently whisper into every senior citizen's ear. The ocean is calling them home. o_O

lol they did not trade for Siakam in his early 20s and they traded their all-star for Halliburton. The Rockets equivalent would be if they traded Sengun for Derek Lively and all their future Suns, Mavs, and Nets picks for Booker and gave him a big extension

Youre said watching the finals you see these guys shooting everywhere on the court which I just pointed out was false. Career shooting has zero to do with the false statement you made. Also, nice way to ignore the part about being 1st team all defense.

Whats ridiculous is your assertion that Amen wouldnt be playing on the Thunder or Pacers. Thats just silly.

I think some of yall missed the point of this post. It wasnt about how the teams were built. There isnt any one way to build a championship team. We've seen it done different ways. We've even seen a player close to the end in their late 30's be added as a key piece to help a team get over the top...Jason Kidd traded to the Mavs. But again, that wasnt the point...

The point was that Indiana who most thought had no chance against the mighty Thunder have pushed it to 7 with a chance to win it all. If adding KD makes you significantly better (it would, granted you arent giving up too much) its a worthwhile trade. Give yourself a real shot to compete and stop putting a cap on yourself by relying on Jalen and Sengun to carry your offense in the playoffs. Even if its not KD, not doing anything because we're "not close" is selling the team short. We punted in the playoffs because we stood pat at the trade deadline and Ime didnt make adjustments. We treated it like a learning simulation more than the actual playoffs.

Ready for this to be over with. I'm in the camp that wants him here at the right price. I understand the concerns but we need someone who can be a consistent closer and KD is still that. We don't have a single other person on the team who you're confident giving the ball to down the stretch. Right now it's Jalen Green which I think the vast majority of us would agree has to end

Amen isn't proven, but he does have a game winner and I would believe it if you told me he has it in him.

The problem is if you're down 3 and need him...

Did people forget that the Pacers traded (1) an All Star in Sabonis for Haliburton and (2) Bruce Brown and three FRPs for Siakam? People are using them as an example of why we shouldn’t make moves? If anything, they are an example of why you shouldn’t rest on your laurels in the NBA.

i dont believe any reports at this point. Unless Phoenix is absolutely batshit crazy, there objectives should be to add young players, draft picks, and expiring contracts that will get them closer to being out of apron hell when Beal is finally gone. the following trade accomplishes that. I would really like to understand the cap implications for the Rockets if someone could be so kind @BimaThug fanspo-nba-trade-machine-snap_h_6-20-2025_8-31-01AM.jpeg

Agree. I always said one of Smith or Eason will be gone before contract extensions. Eason should be the choice.

i dont know why Phoenix would not take it out as long as they can to try to maximize the offers. the only thing that would change that would be for 1 or 2 of the teams to set a deadline for when they will withdraw the offer.

Windhorst: Houston is the team that can make the best trade and is also the best spot for Durant. There’s a connection there with Ime Udoka. If Durant ends up in Houston, you have a serious contender. However Houston is really not motivated to dip into the stash of picks they have. Specifically, they have 2 future Suns picks. That’s what the Suns want back. They want some of the stuff back they traded for Durant that the Rockets acquired from Brooklyn. They don’t want to pay that price right now. They’re wagering the Suns price will come down and will make a deal.

There is a possibility, if the Suns get to Wednesday, they can hold onto him. I don’t think they want to do that but also don’t want to take less than a premium offer.

I heard that just now too. Seems to me Windy had that verbiage coming to him directly to communicate. Which tells me players/salaries have been agreed to, but Rockets aren’t wanting to include the Phx picks or more than 1 pick. Suns seem to be the one communication here to the Rockets to please add another pick or we hold KD for next season.

There is a subtle “you guys will be true contenders IF” salesmanship there happening from Phx.

I hope Stone stays firm and only makes the trade if Phx makes the trade the Rox can live with.

I'm not saying he doesn't have it in him but he can't shoot at all. Now this summer will be very important to see where he's at going into next season.

That's a team wide problem right now unfortunately. Hopefully Reed takes a step next year

You and I are just going to have to agree to disagree on a few things, and that's OK. When the Rockets took Bari at No. 3, I always thought his most likely outcome was a valuable role player or a No. 3 type scorer at best offensively. Not every player who gets drafted that high is viewed as a likely superstar outcome; some guys get drafted high because of specific skillsets and overall floor impact. Bari has always been that guy to me.

If you though Bari was going to come in the league and be a 25 PPG caliber player or even just a hyper-efficient 20 PPG player, I don't know what led you to that conclusion. There was little evidence based on his game at Auburn that he was going to be an elite scorer based on his handle and shot selection. Just because he's not producing at an elite level, though, doesn't mean that he doesn't contribute to winning basketball or has little value.

Also, I'm sorry, but I refuse to label a kid who just turned 22 with his skillset as a "bust." The fact still remains that most NBA players don't hit their peak until ages 25-27, and we have got to stop jumping to conclusions on these prospects when they don't immediately look like superstars their first few seasons. Guys like Amen are exceptions to the rule.

Bottom line is that there's a ton of teams out there who'd jump at the chance to acquire a player like Bari. There's still a crazy amount of untapped potential there, and even if he doesn't get all the way there and his ceiling ends up being just an above average starter and high-level role player, you still need guys like that. Aside from Amen and Sengun, I don't know that I would put any of our other young prospects ahead of him right now in terms of value. He's younger, healthier and has a higher basketball IQ than Tari. He's more versatile and has a much higher floor than Jalen (on top of Jalen's contract). And he's shown us more on the floor than Cam and Reed.

Feel free to disagree with this. That's totally fine. But I don't think we're convincing each other to change our minds at this point, so I'm moving on.
