we have better picks to offer, castle sucks, and who knows if Harper is all that. We'll see if Fox and Wemby can stay on the court.
That and their HC is an unknown; pop doesn’t coach that team anymore. No one is scared of the spurs; it’s that the league keeps gifting them top picks in loaded drafts
Spurs has the Fox extension coming up. They also have to reserve room for when Wemby's extension come up, which isn't too far away. They still have Keldon and Vassell on the books. Spurs is planning ahead who they have to pay, which might be why they've been quiet and shyed away on the KD pursuit. Whatever their offer is their offer.
As a backup plan, would be interested in moving down from 10 with Booklyn... Maybe 10 and Cam Whitmore, Landale, etc. For cam Johnson, 19, and 27... Then move up a little (15-16) to net Joan Beringer as a developmental big to replace Adams and possibly Sengun 2-3 years from now if a deal comes along for Alpi that makes sense. High boom/bust but floor should be solid rim protector and rebounder...
problematic long term? Durant is 2-3 years max anyway. Thats not even long term. Standing pat with this teams obvious flaws is asking for the same result maybe making 2nd round. WE HAVE TO GET A CONSISTENT SCORER THAT CAN GET THEIR OWN SHOT IN CRUNCH TIME. Durant fits the bill and the most realistic without giving up everything to obtain.
Yes - I will take: Wemby Fox Harper Castle Sochan Johnson Vassell over: Amen Sengun Smith Eason Sheppard The Rockets top players are not as good as the Spurs IMO.
Man, I still don't understand what the Heat are doing in these sweepstakes if I'm being perfectly honest. That roster is utter trash, and adding an old KD to it isn't going to move the needle in the slightest. I can understand why KD would want to go there (lifestyle, taxes, opportunities off the court, etc), but the Heat aren't winning **** with Bam, Herro, and KD as their core.
The picks are about the same - the Spurs have three Hawks picks and one from Dallas if I remember right. The Spurs were in a better cap situation if I remember properly. Castle wasn't all that great last year, but neither was Sheppard. I still like Sheppard, but in a redraft right now, Castle goes over him because of his size and ability to defend. I hope I am wrong, but I think objectively that San Antonio is in a better position.
i think its close, but i think our roster is better and our future is more secure. its just my opinion as well, not anything Im realmworried about. I'm way more worried about running it back with FVV and how that will slow the development of everyone but Sengun.
Well - the Heat do it because it keeps the seats filled and fans engaged while they plot out their rebuild. It is also the Eastern Conference and the Heat seem to find a way ever handful of years to make the ECF or Finals. As for KD, it is possible that he doesn't think that any of the teams available are good enough to win a title and he would rather be in Miami and around Riley.... plus Miami could be offering him the extension he wants. At this point, KD knows that he can basically force a trade whenever he feels like it - we saw it with Butler last year. If KD doesn't want to go to Minnesota, then it may be Miami.
Kinda offset by the wemby factor. Fox: San Antonio only Durant: San Antonio is the choice https://www.yardbarker.com/nba/arti...urs_move_before_bucks_trade/s1_13132_40058936 Hell, the #1 prospect in 2026 wants to play with him https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/43559923/dybantsa-top-nba-prospect-26-hopes-play-wembanyama
Why does Jake Fischer look like a pedophile living in his grandma's basement and surviving on Only Fans and Fire Cheetos?
Wemby I just dont trust health wise. Blood Clots are scary. He already looks like hes about to break in half. Awkward to watch play. Zion syndrome but the opposite side of the spectrum. I dont think hes going to have the nba career everyone had hoped.
the rookie that averaged 18, 5, and 5 after the ASB sucks…ok he has more potential than Jalen Green who you’re putting in our core, I know that much…more potential than Jabari too If Spurs were willing to put Castle in a deal, KD would already be there. Meanwhile, we’re offering Jalen Green and they don’t want him and are seemingly struggling to find a 3rd team to dump him on. Fox played in over 70 games each of the prior 2 seasons, and yeah, we’ll be hoping that they don’t stay on the court because we know what it is on paper
What could a play in tourney at best team do with kevin durant for a couple years? Their roster is trash besides the upside of Ware. Bam is ok. Herro is empty stats. Jovic is kind of interesting.
