I didn’t agree with every move he made this past season, but what do I know? The team went from being the worst team in the league to being one of the better teams. Some of the issues we had on offense may be more of a personnel problem rather than a coaching problem. I’m glad he got extended and I’m looking forward to further improvement.
satisfied? i probably won't feel satisfaction from this team unless they win the championship. I am not sure I'll ever see this team win a championship to be honest. i don't think the current roster is that good personally and i'm much lower on the overall make up of the team. I think there are 5 teams in the west that i like their odds as of today for next season more and probably another 2 or so I would add in there because i like their futures more. 1. OKC 2. Wolves 3. Lakers 4. Warriors 5.Nuggets and 6. Spurs 7. Mavericks both for the future due to having potential franchise players at a tier above anything the Rockets have unless Amen really hits every single box this off-season in growth. Spurs likely will have 2 franchise level guys in Amen's tier (Harper) or above (Wemby) Ime got a group of underachievers to buy into his defensive first mentality and turned the Rockets into a regular season Cinderella. The series would have been over faster if Fred kept playing his normal game and didn't turn into a player worth his salary for two games. The Rockets lost to the Warriors, and I expected them to. The Rockets don't have a first option as of today.

Is he the best coach in the league? Probably not. Is he among the best coaches in the league? I believe so. Good move by the FO. Would love to hear the details such as when the extension kicks in, the money, the years, etc. So glad the days of Sil@ss and KPJ & JG leading the team with their need for a lob threat are over. If I was a lottery level rookie, I would be telling my agent to let the Rockets know to stay away. If Reed and Cam couldn’t get play given our terrible shooting, how will a rookie get a chance?
Wemby would have gotten play, I can assure you. If Reed improves this offseason he will get play as well. Only way rookies won't get a chance even if they suck their rookie season. Reed got many games to show something as a rookie but was way to passive and got largely benched after 20 games or so, still managed to get into 52 games last season. Cam even got lots of chances his rookie season before he hit the dog house in his second.

Ime needs to ensure we diversify the offense. Personnel matters (big time) here. So part of it is on Stone. I think there is a ton of runway for internal growth and we will supplement with a star at some point. I am fine with this extension.
I'm glad Ime Udoka got an extension. He does need an offensive coordinator to help him out, along with an improved background.
Congrats to Ime! After Silas fiasco it's good to have a solid head coach. Now let's work on our offensive system and upgrade the roster. PS. Don't be afraid to play your young guys, you've got security now.
I like the move. I've had my share of issues with Udoka but a lot of them due to him basically making short sighted decisions. Which ideally will happen a lot less when you have a lot more guaranteed money, even if you get fired halfway through the deal. If this gets Udoka to coach more for the long game, then its great. And if he sucks, well you hope Fertitta is willing to eat some dead money to help win a title

This is why Ime was smart to prioritize meaningless regular season games over the best interests of the team when it matters and for the long term. 50+ meaningless wins got him the bag despite getting embarrassed by a 7 seed and it doesn't matter what happens after this, he got paid.
There is no way guys didn’t get better under Ime. You don’t make the leap this team did without development. All players aren’t on the same timeline and some won’t turn into what fans want. There are not always enough minutes to go around for everyone consistently when you have so many young players. The cream will rise to the top player wise. So, while Ime can be better, I don’t have massive complaints with his coaching.
