It does send a message to Ime and the players though that ownership is committed to him. And in a way, it sends a message to the Knicks that he ain't available and to stop asking permission to speak to him.
No - I think you mean he told the front office what they are going to do in the short term and who they should look at. Weeks ago, I said he was getting the extension - he has a lot of power within the Rockets organization right now.

thats exactly what I said. Ime gave his demands and the FO probably agreed to it and then he signed the contract. I wouldn't be surprised if that contract offer was available for months.
