This move where you say “tell me who has Bari’s strengths” is silly for a few reasons.

    1. A player is the sum of their strengths and weaknesses. You could just as easily respond with that construction around a weakness; “How many players in this draft play so upright they cannot bring the ball downcourt, can’t initiate their own offense, and can’t really switch onto guards?”

    2. It ignores the alternate minutes distribution that goes with the trade. What’s the world with Jabari’s minutes and no draft pick versus the world with no Jabari. I’m not certain the draft pick is worth more but “tall switchable wing who can shoot” is a lot less of an alarming loss when you are getting … Kevin Durant. And I get that Amen can’t shoot, but he and Tari are far far superior defenders, break players, and offense initiators.

    3. It also ignores contracts. The Rox prob aren’t paying Bari and Tari anyways. And that largely reflects my (1) and my (2). So you are really talking about 1 year of Bari.

I get that this is a message board etc. but there is a reason why exactly zero people in the FO are analyzing this by saying “show me one person in the draft …”

You're ignoring WS/48 and Net rating, the latter of which had Bari with the third highest score on the team last season behind Sengun and Adams. And consider that the other stats you're citing here weigh heavily on offensive output and production, which are not Bari's strengths. He also boasts a shockingly low USG%, but he's one of the more efficient scorers on the team.

In talks of Jabari, I think a better offensive mind can get a lot more out of his shooting, particularly mid range. He's shot roughly 45% from the mid range the last 2 seasons. Those shots are usually well contested in pure half court situations. When this team went into one of its frequent offensive lulls it always infuriated me that switching Jabari onto a smaller man to take middies isn't better utilized. It's just a thing we do every now and then.

Not saying Jabari will immediately become Dirk, but we force some bad, bad shots when the possibility of a decent shot is always right there.

As we utilize him, I agree with others that there's really nothing special about him. He's just a solid 3&D role player. I'm not sure if Udoka really plans to try and change that. I would have rather lost some games the last 2 years trying to get more out of him then settle for what he is.

No, Crawford's birthday is March 20, so he also turned 23 during his "age 22" season.

If you ignore statistics, I guess you could say both of those players were better than Jalen Green through their age 22 seasons.

They are not paying Tari and letting Jabari walk.

Tari gets hurt all the time and Jabari has more upside.

If they liked Tari more he would be starting.

I can't wait for the daily update from NBA Universe about the Suns wanting more, Rockets, Spurs and Heat not offering more, Timberwolves wanting a commitment from KD before offering more and the dark horse Raptors willing to trade 9th, Quickley and Barrett for Durant.

    @J.R. I await the tweets.

Yeah, don't point out he was a more efficient scorer than Jalen, the fans boys and their "four more years" will come out in full force...

I wonder if the deal is done and they're just waiting until after the Finals to announce.

Jabari’s problem is Ime doesn’t feature him.

If Jabari ran around screens or came off of pin downs he would be a much more offensively oriented player.

Hell, Ime could look at what Auburn ran and borrow from that....we play ISO Steve Francis Drive and kick nonsense.

I think the deal is done. I’m sure it’s something like Dillion Brooks, Cam Whitmore, Jock Landale, Aaron Holiday, and 2027 FRP.

PHX is probably holding out to replace Cam Whitmore with either Tari or Bari….

Very difficult for me to think that Jabari has more upside than Tari.

Jabari has an extremely high floor and will be in the league for 12 years. And will have an excellent NBA career.

Tari is limited by injury concerns, but he has the tools to become great. He has shown the ability to overwhelm his opponent and dominate games. I cannot remember one instance of Jabari flat out taking over a game, but Tari has many times. But he also no shows bc of injury and inconsistent play. Tarik’s floor is much lower.

Jabari has had games where he gets more shots and makes them. But it is one dimensional on offense. Tari has wrecked shop on both ends.

Us old folks can remember when the wheels fell off for Hakeem at age 37. He was all NBA with MVP votes at 36.

I still want this to happen, but when we start talking about moving Jabari out, it gives me pause. Jalen, Dillon and picks is my strong preference.

So he played 13 games as a 23 year old, Jalen played 30 as a 23 year old

Also Jalen logged 10, 038 minutes in his sample
Crawford logged 3,523 minutes in his sample
JR Smith logged 5,740 minutes in his sample

When it comes to "statistics" I assume you are only referring to compilation metrics... attempting to say "Jalen scored more points, thus better".

I hope you understand the MANY reasons this is stupid and not to be taken seriously.
