Apparently the Celtics are open to offers, now there are some guy to throw serious packages at. Where’s that buzz?

Durant seems to be the first domino to fall.

I think the Rockets should be exploring all the opportunities and I’d be surprised if they haven’t at least approached the Celtics on the availability of Derrick White and Sam Hauser.

Celts are definitely open for business. Jrue Holiday, Jaylen Brown and Porzingis are thought to be top on their list to trade.

I think it's a forgone conclusion Porzingis is traded. Very likely for Holiday. I see no reason for them to keep Sam Hauser.

They will have a very hard time trading Jaylen Brown if a huge return is required.

Derrick White is the guy they won't part with unless a Desmond Bane type of deal is offered.

I'd definitely trade a lot for Brown. Otherwise, I'm not too interested Porzingis or Holiday, or White given what it likely would take to get him.

I’d take Brown if we were able to get him. I’d also be interested in White if possible, but might cost too much.

The only Celtic you really want is out for the season and probably untouchable.

You can keep the rest of them.

We are busy getting Durant. Honestly, don't want Brown and his huge contract. No interest in Porzingis and Holiday. I don't see them giving up White based on the current contract he has unless you gave them an insanely strong offer which I definitely would not do for White.

    Pass.

it seems like Boston needs to decide if they’re gonna try to get into the playoffs next year and hope that Tatum can return in time to maybe make a run at the title? Is that even feasible with his injury? I know some of those recovery timelines have been sped up recently by medical advancements.

I like Brown but because of the contract I wouldn’t give up very much. Derek White is very reasonable and would do a lot for us. They would only be trading him if they were going to kinda try to punt a bit next year and regroup.

    Cam+Brooks+Jock+#10 for White and Hauser?

This is worth pausing and thinking on!! I'm assuming the Durant we would be wanting for 1 year, plus a 2 year extension.

    Durant
    25/26: 54,7M
    26/27: 57.3M (extension)
    27/28: 62.7M

    Brown
    25/26: 53.1M
    26/27: 57.0M
    27/28: 61.0M
    28/29: 64.9M

Certainly, Brown has already signed the deal, and has a larger overall sum of money due to him than a Durant extension would offer. However, Brown is actually paid less than Durant currently, and less than a Durant extension would cost (under the likely assumption that Durant expects a max extension of walks).

I'm just saying... a package of Green + 1-2 other young talents and some picks might be enticing for the Celts to drop salary, and then gain the ability to make moves afterwards. OR it could give them an opportunity for a hard reset in the present year [eg ditch other salaries for picks] to build a contender around Tatum + whatever else they want to keep of their core.

Jaylen Brown for 5 years at an average of 57 million seems like a better idea than a 37 year old making about the same for the next 3 years. Pay Jaylen till he is 32 years old or pay KD till he is 40? I’d pay Jaylen.

I'd rather have Hauser than Durant. Much cheaper. Address one of our biggest weaknesses. Still young.

I mean, call me crazy, but Jaylen is also certainly $20M per year better for us than Jalen.

I rather have Durant than Brown even with the age difference. Preference is not to trade for Durant but if we were contemplating Brown and Durant, for me the choice is easy. Brown is overpaid for what he produces.

I am of the mindset that Celtics blow it up just a little... like a bottle rocket rather than a M-80

    1) Send Hauser to ROX for 3 SRPs + Landale (Landale waived / team option not exercised / etc.)

    2) BOS - LAC - BRK
BRK: Bogdanovic (LAC) + 2 SRPs (via BOS)

    LAC: Jrue Holiday (BOS)

BOS: Dunn (LAC) + Batum (LAC) + #30 (via LAC)
    Batum exercises his PO

    3) BOS is under 1A for now

    Pritchard - Dunn - #28 or #30
White - Scheiermann - Davison (TO)
Brown (Tatum on IR) - Brissett (VM) - Walsh
    Porzingis - Tillman - Peterson
    Horford (2 years, $20M) - Kornet (reasonable) - Queta

That's a team that can compete in the LEast until Tatum returns

    Stays under 2A
