This is the line of thinking that, I expect, will shift evangelical support for war with Iran. They're obsessed with Israel and have no ability to distinguish between an ancient tribe in the desert and a modern parliamentary government that recently held five elections in three years. They give Israel a blank check no matter what because they believe its existence is a requirement for Jesus to return to earth. Never mind that they think many of the Jews living there will be eternally damned; it's all a giant Rube Goldberg machine of inconsistent logic to them.

My father in law, who attends a very evangelical church, told us that their worship last Sunday was interrupted by a parishioner who implored the congregation to "pray for Israel". This was two days after the first air strikes. Now that the party apparatus is working overtime to solidify a narrative I imagine that tons of churches across America will hear very solidly pro-Israel sermons this week.

Any two-state solution in case of Israel and Palestine is not going to happen after what just transpired, a genocide. The most realistic solution: USA takes in the Zionists and Jews who do not want to live in Palestine, creates Israel on their own land as they should’ve after WW2 and Palestine goes back to its original borders and name with full acknowledgement. Any of this Hamas terrorist talk is all nonsense since Israel funded it and put them in power. Palestinians in no shape or form will nor should they accept the existence of Israel on their land. They likely will be forced to accept, but they shouldn’t.

the ideal scenario is busting up irans ability to enrich uranium and then negotiate after for a sustainable long term peace plan. I’m not saying that’s a lock but that’s what you’d hope for.
