I think the reported disagreement between Ime and Stone is that Ime wants Green in the deal and Stone doesn't because that's his guy while Stone wants Brooks in the deal and Ime doesnt because that's his guy.
I'd be very worried to offer KD a two year max extension. Paying a 39 year old $50+ million the year that Amen Thompson's presumably max extension kicks in just doesn't sound that smart. I'd feel easier if I could guarantee that's a team option in that final year. And that's part of why I'm not offering a ton. I'm counting on two good years from KD at most, and even that second good year isn't guaranteed.
FVV or Dillon for KD this year Save & build value on Green, Jabari, Reed, Cam and package them together for Ant when he ask out Amen / Ant / Durant / Sengun 2027
Intentional doesn't mean it's BS. Everyone you speak in life says something to you with an intention for their own benefit. Your mother telling you to eat your veggies as a kid is intentional but that doesn't mean eating veggies is worthless. The Suns leaking to the press they don't want Jalen doesn't mean they secretly love him and is playing 4D chess jedi mind tricking Stone and Fertitta. The common sense reasons why they'd leak that is because they want to put out a flyer to see if another team wants him, or that they want their fans to understand why they're not doing a deal with the Rockets yet. If you just use a common sense filter with these rumors, they make plenty of sense.
Building a team on what he's heard and not heard is a more stable foundation than building a team based on your irrational emotional attachment to a terrible SG....
Both of these guys are very good and near perfect 3rd guys to have, with Murphy having the chance to grow to be a number 2 guy. I wouldn't call Avdija a star but he's one of the best role players you could have, Murphy is potentially on his way to a star But more importantly, both are on incredible contracts. I actually think we should be pursuing both of these guys, specially Murphy, because I can't explain how big it'd be to have guys like that making the money they are. Murphy is locked in through 28-29 making an average AVV of $28 million, and Avdija is locked in through 27-28 making an average AVV of $13.5 million (!!) on a descending deal, he is only doing $11.875 his final year. He's gonna be the fifth or sixth highest paid player on your team while being the third best player, roster make-up like that is what wins championships in this world with the new CBA. That being said, upside on Murphy is much higher and he's a better 3 point shooter so that's where my interest would lie. But I really like both players, specially as trade assets, and don't blame any team that wants to go after them. San Antonio would be smart since they already have their stars
They just delay him like the spurs and Kawhi and it means max cap space with Sengun, him, Jabari, and Reed. They have Brooks, Adams, Jalen, and (presumably) FVV all falling off at the same time right when Amen would get paid.
I'm not quite there, I think he could be a decent 6th man.... but this board would DEFINITELY benefit immensely if we got rid of him just because we could be rid of his absurd fans.
