Jalen is asked to create his own shots. Dillon is asked to stand on the wing and let others create shots for him. They play different roles in the offense. It has nothing to do with the shots they CHOOSE to take.

I just want to add that Dillon and Jalen shot the same percentage on catch and shoot threes, but Dillon shot a higher volume of them. So yeah, I'd still say that makes him a better catch and shoot 3pt shooter.

I think a lot of the offers being presented by media is bogus. Outside of salary matching, it doesn’t make sense for any team to mortgage their future for 37 yo KD. He’s not going to lead a team anymore. He’s at a point where he is a complimentary addition.
I trust the FO to build a contender without mortgaging the future of this team.
Also, Rockets and Suns have been in discussion for months. Suns already know what Houston is offering. It’s nothing new or shocking like what the media is stating. I do think they are trying to get others or improve, but I wouldn’t be surprised if a deal was agreed upon already and details are being worked out.

They should but that offer and the Raptors offer don’t seem to be real because they would’ve accepted it by now

They do play different roles. That's true.

Jalen took about 4 more self created pull up jumpers than Dillon did per game. Most of Jalen's came from three whereas most of Dillons self created jumpers were inside the arc. But Dillon wasn't just strictly a catch and shoot guy. He just didn't dribble as much as Jalen when he did create his own shots. But if you look at the stats, the guy who was the best at creating their own shot and making them was Cam Whitmore. It really isn't even close.

The best catch and shoot players if you account for 2s and 3s were Aaron Holiday and Brooks.

Offers could be fake or they could be holding out and really trying to send KD somewhere he wants to go.

    PG FVV
    SG Amen
    C Alpy
    PF Durant
    SF Brooks

    Tari/ Jabari/ Reed/ Steve off the bench.

Bench players are very important, and get plenty of minutes. DB can start and play 30ish, Tari can get 30 off the bench backing up 2-4 spots.

I don't see the issue at all - Durant has been playing as a 4 for years

lol that's hilarious, this is not NBA2k. If Durant is starting, then rather than Sengun getting 21 points on19 shots guarded by Draymond, he'll be guarded by Post or Looney. If Sengun is guarded by one of them and Draymond has to guard Durant and Green is basically as open as he was in game 2, then we we would bury them with consistent offensive production from the start.

We would not have to wait 4 games for FVV to show up.

Dillon is his most dangerous being the 5th option but his Defense wasn't as crisp lately.

Thank you!! The idea that Jalen is gun slinging is a preposterous notion. The exact opposite is the truth. Udoka tells him to take a lot of 3's even though he's not a great 3PT shooter? He does it and Udoka calls those good shots in multiple interviews. Udoka tells him to sacrifice shot attempts and assists by passing out of double teams in the playoffs - something hardly any lead scorer in the NBA would accept - he does it so that his team can go 4 on 3.

The dude needs to be more forceful both vocally and on the court about getting more drives and FT's. A more tactically mature player would look at our situation and say the obsession with offensive rebounding is sacrificing drives - that's an idiotic exchange. My big disappointment with him in the playoffs was that he did not challenge Udoka and say "my teammates just getting midrange jumpers at 41% efficiency when they go 4 on 3, f*ck this I'm going to try to beat the double team because it's on my shoulders more than theirs if this crashes."

That's what everyone wanted whether they know it or not. The common narrative is that other players don't get suffocated and that we would prefer a lowered efficiency rather than disappearing into the opponent's plan. That would require Jalen to tell Udoka to f*ck off. I wonder if everyone IN TRUTH would prefer that over passing to his teammates, but it's certainly what I wish Jalen had done by game 3 or 4. He was way too accepting of Udoka's "how about we just let them decide which shot we take" offense.

How about instead of being rude, do some research?

I've told you what he has been playing, up to you whether or not you want to look it up.

The Minny deal is a bit concerning because Gobert is exactly what the Suns need most. During their coaching interviews they asked what each coach would do to get Beal to play to the level of his contract w Durant leaving and creating an opportunity. If they get even 50% of Beal's contract value out of him under a new coach, Booker + Gobert + any other changes they make maybe flipping that pick for veteran help, the value of our remaining Suns picks can tank.

This makes me wonder if that rumor of what Minny offered is being floated to get Houston to up their offer and hope their Suns picks are still worth something.

I’ve done my research - how about you do some, KD who is in conversations as the greatest SF ever … yes sometimes plays PF and sometimes plays C depending on lineups and the team he is on…

in Houston he would be our SF … we need as many shooters on court as possible so him and Bari being on court together is a must

Amen played PF majority of last season - is he a PF (hell no) he’s a G/SF

    Jesus….

I don't necessarily want Jalen creating his own 3s. He needs to drive and finish at the rim more.

    Catch and shoot is fine.

Correct, and that is why they are looking to replace Jalen. He has failed at his role.

Why would we get rid of the guy who is outperforming expectations to keep the one who isn't meeting them?
