Jalen Green - Speed, Athletecism, Defense really improved, Durable, played all 89 games this season and playoffs, 82 games last season. Jalen Green reading the Game and planning is a huge need for him along with getting stronger by adding 15 lbs of muscle, that way he doesn't get pushed or hacked under the rim or 4 feet around the rim. His numbers has to improve in Midrange and 3 Pt FG. Cam Whitmore - doesn't pass when trapped, would rather dunk attempt but gets blocked, after Cam gets blocked Cam doesn't run back on defense. Cam can't switch on defense and is a huge liability. Cam is a Small Forward. Cam Whitmore is blessed already with a Muscular Frame since when he was a Rookie, but doesn't move laterally well on defense and doesn't use high energy on defense. Cam has to play better than Dillon Brooks to win the Starting Small Forward Spot.
I would like someone to post a video compilation of Cam Whitmore demonstrating court vision. Seriously. Does such a thing exist? Because I'm constantly amazed at how this guy, when he gets put on the court late in games, uses every opportunity to show his ability to score and nothing else. We know you can score, dude. We're looking to see whether you're capable of, or even interested in, developing more of a team game.
Cam I like that. The Rockets should get Tristan Da Silva for him, if Miami doesn't want him. Cam doesn't fit with the Heat culture.
You dont know this at all. Its just made up rumor here. some idiot kept saying they didnt like him because he didnt smile. the rockets have some real man baby child like fans. its ridiculous. he's 21 and has not been given half the minutes jalen or kpj got and is nothing like KPJ. KPJ would have choked or beat someone up by now.
What attitude? Has the media reported this? Have you heard him say something negative in person? Or is it your judgement on his body language? Perceived or real?
I mean if you trade Bari, Green, Landale for KD, they could give Cam minutes backing up Amen and Brooks. After that, Brooks can be moved as an expiring contract and Amen/Whitmore are your 2/3 players. There's the upside to the team.
I know everyone wants Cam to be better passer...and I agree...I'd like to see him pass better as well... But do ya'll realize that per 36 minutes he only averages 1.7 less assist than Jalen? He averages the same amount of assist per 36 as Tari Eason and more than Dillon Brooks and Jabari? Also, did ya'll know that Cam is pretty far out ahead of everyone else as far as non catch and shoot opportunities? Meaning, when a player dribbles either in isolation, on the break or off a screen and takes a pull up jumper...Cam is by far the best at that on the team and it's not even close. The next closest behind him is Aaron Holiday who is 6% points in EFG behind him...Jalen is about 12% points behind him. Cam Whitmore is still 20 right now. He's younger than Reed Sheppard. There will be multiple rookies selected in the draft who are 2-3 years older than Cam is. Ya'll are tripping acting like the dude is just some scrub. He has the highest scoring upside of any ball handler on the team, even more than Amen since Amen hasn't shown he can shoot yet (Not saying he is a better overall player). For a team that struggles to score, 15-20 mins of Cam Whitmore per night would do wonders.
If you watched him play, when he got extended minutes he made very good passing decisions, but he is primarily a scorer - and yes, we need a scorer on this team in the worst way.... Jalen is too inconsistent, and he is a mental wuss - we need strength there, Cam should get a shot, he is a better shooter than Jalen and is 3 years younger. DD
