Well first time I seen a team or fan base to give up on a 22 yr , they treat him like he no impact for making the team a 52 win team, one playoff series they want to get rid of him , even if he isn't the star, he could have been great with KD, they had no spread for him, amen can't shoot sengun can't shoot, Dillon can , fvv is super inconsistent, no space for him to drive or anything , putting Durant would have been with him for him and the team . Jalen wouldnt have faced face up doubles or traps like that
This is why you watch what they do and not listen to what they say. The Rockets made every excuse for Jalen after that playoff series (as they should have) and now they are actively trying to trade him for a 2-3 year KD rental. They already tried to trade him for Bridges last year. There were reports back in the Silas era that they thought more highly of kpj than him. It should be abundantly clear at this point they do not value him as a core piece moving forward and really theres only a few fringe folks that still somehow see star upside. It aint happening.
I think the reason the Suns have not jumped on the purported Raptors deal is because it is not on the table, or Durant is flat out not open to an extension there. The rumored Raptors deal for KD creates a lot of holes on an already flawed roster. It would leave them essentially without a center *and* the #9 pick where they would presumably draft Maluach, the center from Duke. The Raptors have been touted to take Maluach to fill an existing need *with* Poetel on the roster. When the Raptors gambled on Kawai, they had a loaded roster. It was worth the risk to get over the top. Does anybody think a 37 year old Durant would move the needle much for this Toronto team? I don't question that there is interest in KD from Toronto, Houston, Miami and the Spurs. I just think they all want bargain basement, going out of business terms from Phoenix.
I agree. I really dont want to give him up but if its him and Jalen as the two main pieces id pull the trigger. I think Jabari has a lot of growth ahead of him and i like how he shot in the playoffs... But I also think theres journeymen role player type dudes that can replace most of what he brings.
No one suggests giving up on this foundation.... if all he costs is Jalen and salary filler, that's not giving up on anyone that matters.
Mark Williams, Mr. Street Clothes East, would really help the value of the Suns picks the Rockets own.
You're right. It's also the first time someone was handed everything on a platter, for four continuous years, and hasn't managed to improve his shooting one iota, and is more often than not a negative to his teammates on the floor. So that's why it's the first time you're seeing it. No one has gotten everything that Jalen has before, and been so pathetic with that consistent unwarranted opportunity.
THIS REMINDS ME OF ANOTHER MISTAKE THE ROCKETS MADE Houston - Charles Barkley Phoenix - Robert Horry and Sam Cassell Stone, don't do it!
I can’t wait to hear how we have included FVV into talks and have taken JG out. It’s oddly strange that Fred’s name hasn’t been mentioned at all and his contract aligns well with KD’s…. It’s so simple, FVV/Jock/#10.
I agree in the sense that whoever the Rockets give up, they will likely still have plenty of depth and assets. But to be fair Jabari starting coming off the bench because of Amen performing well while he was injured. Jabari fits perfectly with Sengun and Amen, though. Stretches the floor to give those two space to operate and drive. And Sengun and Amen aren't great shooters percentage wise yet either.
I think they have turned the ball over less and won more since FVV came here. Alley oops are fun, but it's not a play you can rely on in the half court. It takes the defense falling asleep...
4 seasons, zero development in half court creation ability. I mean literally none, even slight defensive focus and he's toast. If he weren't the second overall pick with the sunk cost fallacy attached he would be a bench player somewhere.
I think the reality is it Adam Silver would’ve reached out to Phoenix and asked them to complete the trade after the finals. I just have a hard time seeing go down before then.
Not improved his shooting one iota? Green averaged .343 from 3 on 6.8 3s a game his rookie year and averaged .354 on 8.1 3pa per game this season. His average from 3 was better this season than Harden. Only like 15 players averaged .35 from 3 or better while shooting 8+ 3pa per game. Anyone who thinks his 3 point shooting hasn't improved doesn't understand ball.
