I think you're exactly right we need someone now. And Lux would be great. My vote would be for Friedl of that group - he's a lefty, also hitting much better on the road than at home and he plays CF for the Reds - an OF of Friedl / Meyers / Cam could easily cover every single patch of OF ground. He's still pre-arb too so super cheap and under club control for a long time.
The Reds aren’t gonna trade key players while they are over .500. Houston needs them to lose 5-6 in a row to help them open their door to selling. Right now the White Sox, A’s, Marlins, Nats, and pirates are the only teams that would sell without a significant overpay.
I hadn't checked their record. I concede the point - but they may be sellers by the deadline. In the meantime, I'd add the Orioles to the list of current sellers. The team is going nowhere, with a record and run differential nearly identical to the Nats. They have both Mullins and O'Hearn as lefty bats the Astros could target.
They’ve got a LHP starting tonight so we’ll score runs. The problem is going to be how many does this scrub we are starting give up.
I know a lot of people are upset with who we are starting, but man…. I’d rather focus on how freaking proud I am of this team. The injuries we’ve had to put up with, and yet we still keep winning. Yes, we are going to lose some due to throwing a starting pitcher that won’t be there in a few weeks, but the fact we are in first with all this going on.. this is freaking awesome.
I still think Ozuna would go a long way with this team. But the office would need to get on board with yordan in left again, altuve at 2nd, and ozuna picking up the DH. Rotating them all through Left and DH. We need a middle of the lineup guy (or for Walker to turn it on). I don't really want to bother with going out there and getting a 6/7/8 hitter.
