What I love about Cam is how competitive he is - he wants to not only beat the other guy but DESTROY him, he doesn't shy away from contact he bullies through it. Every single SUPERSTAR player has these traits.......now I don't know if Cam can get there, but those traits are CHAMPIONSHIP traits.....he has some maturing to do, but so does every 20 year old...like ever...he is the youngest player on the team still, behind Reed even. So, I want to see what he will become, I want to see what will happen as Ime breaks him of bad habits and encourages that competitiveness. And, I think he will be miles better than Jalen Green because of it.... Jalen is mentally weak, he isn't a guy to build around he is a wuss on the floor, and hasn't gotten appreciably better - Cam needs to play, Jalen is in the way - simple as that. What I don't know is if the org has the same view - could be completely opposite....we shall see, I guess. DD
lol. So anyone who criticizes Cam for his easily observed flaws is a desperate Jalen fan? Got it. Personally, I don’t care which of them emerges to be a consistent player on both ends of the court. I just want SOMEBODY to step up. Meanwhile, Jalen remains clueless and Cam keeps his head firmly up his own ass. Can’t blame either of those on the coach unless YOU’RE the _____-only fan.
Cam played great in the 2nd half of the season - did you notice that? Probably not. It is fine to criticize him, when he doesn't get back on D, when he hangs his head....you bench him...you explain it, and you put him back in the game.....so he can grow. He is 20......TWENTY.......he will get there.....and his ceiling is much higher than Green because of his competitive spirit and edginess. DD
You don’t have to be an only fan, to recognize that there can be contributing factors to Jalen’s lack of progress and believe his potential can be unlocked in the right offensive system. Same with Cam. Ime so far in his career has been a poor offensive coach. That doesn’t mean he is responsible for all of Jalen’s shortcomings, but it is not irrational to say he has played a part as well as Silas. There is also the fact that he plays with one of the worst starting pg’s in the league. Seeing everything in black and white and not considering the full picture is a sign of mental immaturity. I’m not a Jalen only fan and recognize he has faults, but I can also recognize team dynamics that contribute to his failures. Jalen haters rarely look at things objectively.
See I agree with this, Jalen could be better with a better PG and in a better system. He is not a 1v1 player - he is much better as a speed off the wing guy, he would probably be his MAX self in an Indiana type of system. DD
