From the Rockets perspective it needs to definitely happen before June 29, because that is the day they have to decide on FVV, Landale, and others that would most likely be involved in the trade or whose deals need to be settled from a cap perspective. If 2025 draft picks are involved then the trade would need to happen on draft day or right before.
Yes, but if the #10 pick is involved it will have to be agreed on before the draft, so we can make the pick on Phoenix’s behalf.
Lol I read the first few words and my heart jumped thinking it was done. Just to realize its an old post...sigh
I am not buying San Antonio being KD #1 choice they will probably have to give up Keldon and Vassell to make the money work. KD would go to a team that missed the playoffs while losing two key role players with no cap room?
If it is close to the draft, if the deal is done way before the draft, then the Suns pick themselves. Or let Silver announce it.
I don’t think that is anything different from what I said. Phoenix would tell us who to pick and we would pick him. If the deal is not done until July, the draft pick would be a Rockets until the deal is effective.
Phoenix did exactly this and they no longer have an up and coming core nor a championship. We get KD for a reasonable offer or not at all. FVV, #10, Cam should be max offer. Them wanting Tari, Bari, and multiple picks or something like that is just nuts. KD is not worth multiple young rotation players and picks anymore.
Brooks shot nearly 40% from 30. Replacing him with Durant would have negligible difference in spacing. If green was as good as the fanboys say, he wouldn't need teammates to set him up. Haliburton was better as a rookie than Jalen now and he was on an awful Sac Town team. Did Kings fans discuss giving him more space to operate or getting better picks from their big men?
Im not giving up more than Jalen and 10 from the young players just for kd. Id be willing to move Bari or Tari but not giving up #10 in that scenario.
Exactly, so Green is expendable because Brooks can do it already but with better defense. He's also on a cheaper contract giving more space for others.
Phoenix did the equivalent of trading Bregman and McCullers as well as 3 top prospects for Verlander. So no, they didn't exactly do the Verlander trader.
They have Beal and Booker. They have no interest in a 3rd string 2 guard. That's why they are looking for another team to take him and be able to get a better fit back.
It could easily improve. Amen on the point breaks defenses better than FVV and Jabari should only get better as a 3 and D guy.
