Yeah - but the thing is that Bane brought back the haul because he is an elite shooter, and the team need was dire. There is also a belief that an elite shooter is a game changer for the Magic, allowing them to be a conference powerhouse, so they've gone "all in" on Bane. So no market is equivalent, and although I facetiously suggested such in another thread, I truly don't believe Jalen could fetch 4 firsts plus a swap. His contract is not bad for his production and potential production, and there are enough flashes for someone to be a believer.

THIS IS RIDICULOUS! How can you compare a 1st Option player to a 3rd Option player?? The same question was asked about Harden and Klay Thompson. Thompson was more efficient because he was their 2nd option. He was being guarded by a lesser defender. Harden avg more turnovers, horrible playoff stats, etc. because he was the Rocket's leading scorer and counted on to do more! You can not compare Thompson to Harden, the same way you can't compare Bane to Jalen. Bane was Memphis third, 3rd, TRES Option! Morant, JJJ, then Bane!!
No way you get a haul like that for Jalen right now. He's not good enough yet. But who knows down the line a few years...
41% from 3 is tremendous. Jalen has far too many 3 for 15 type games with zero free throws to be in the conversation.
Did you see the haul Bane just got for The Grizzlies? Do you think anyone would even approach that for Jalen? Somewhere in there is your answer
Did you see what the Mavs traded Luka for? Did you see what Minny traded to get Gobert? Actually, I think Memphis won that trade. Bane is just an avg starter.
