My takeaway from this conflict is that without nuclear weapons and a modern arms industry, you cannot stand up to the great powers without being destroyed in a conventional war. Ground forces are no match against a modern air force and only 3 (or 4) countries make fighter jets. So unless you're the US, France, Russia or China, you either become a puppet or you never stick your neck out and pray you remain irrelevant.

Israel clearly has the better technology and recon - but a ground invasion into Iran would be a disaster for Israel.

Have found myself agreeing with Tucker in the past couple of years more than I'd like to admit. His interview with the Palestinian Christian pastor was an eye-opener for a lot of my Christian friends and co-workers.

You're right, I would never say it to a Muslim's face, for fear of fatwa.

 

Since these countries don't share a border and don't have the maritime assets to get at each other via the sea, the only plausible scenario where Israeli boots are on the ground in Iran in a substantial way is some sort of airborne operation on key targets in Iran their air force can't get at like the Fordrow Plant where Israeli commandos/paratroopers physically bust into the complex and destroy it from the inside.

I'm not sure if Israel has the capabilities to pull something like that off but I am sure they have been considering it and it would be the most daring airborne assault/raid in military history.

[Another scenario where IDF boots would be on the ground in Iran would be a U.S. ground invasion but I don't consider that plausible at this time]
