There isn't one anymore. There is a diversity of them which makes catering to them difficult. In fact, griping about being dissed might be the most AVERAGE thing you can say about them as a whole.

Just fyi, it’s only for training facilities and HQ as of now. Oh and one more nugget. The area is basically in Bridgeland, west of 99. If you want a more exact area. :)

I still think it makes a lot of sense for the stadium as well.

They have their ticket data. They know where the fans are. An extra 20 minute drive for someone in Kingwood or Laporte won’t stop them from going and Houston’s real growth is West of 99/Conroe currently. You also add a location closer to Brehnam/Sealy/Magnolia and you get everyone.

    Ultimately… it’s just smart business.

Fulshear is arguably one of the safest places in Houston. Crazy police presence. Super nice area. Rated the faster growing area in the USA.

For the stadium, Cypress/Bridgeland is still in Harris County, so wouldn't really solve their funding problem, unless they move it even further out 290 to Waller County, or north up 249 to Montgomery County.

Maybe for the stadium yes! I don’t think the Texans will have issues grabbing funding but we will see when the time comes.

Again, the training and HQ area looks like a done deal in the area mentioned. Money is being spent.

Dang, I was kind of hoping they'd put the new HQ at the Northwest Mall site.

That’s interesting. That’s the area where the McNair family used to live, and where Cal grew up.

Honestly the Texans organization really do not deserve a new stadium with any funding from the taxpayers. The team has been below mediocre for two decades, and they have had strong fan attendance and the value of the franchise has skyrocketed. If they want a new stadium, the McNair's can pay for all of it.

NOBODY deserves a taxpayer funded stadium. The fact that some get it is a slap in the face of the taxpayers, the most disrespected group on Earth.

Amen to this......from the Interweb, the Texans have ZERO debt and their Billionaires, they don't need Joe Six Pack to fund their investment which in a way is a license to print money. I love the Mcnair`s, but they can do this alone, then they have 100% control

According to CNBC's NFL team valuations for 2024, the Houston Texans have a debt as a percentage of value of 0%. This indicates that the team is considered debt-free.
This information was published in September 2024 and refers to the team's financial status around that time. The Texans had a franchise value of $6.35 billion at that time, with $640 million in revenue and $122 million in EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization)

If the tax payers subsidize the stadium, then that amount, as a percentage of the teams' total valuation, should belong to the tax payers (Harris County or wherever the tax is collected). Essentially a mutually beneficial relationship cementing the fact that the team remains in town forever.

You live in Chicago? When I travel to Chicago I have to pay the Illinois Sports Facilities Authority hotel tax to pay for Chicago's stadiums. You can return the favor and continue to pay the Harris County Sports Authority Tax when you visit Houston and stay at a hotel.

Neither city should be paying for stadiums.

Both are large cities --- if the Texans or White Sox or Cubs want to complain, they can.

SMH, let the McNair's pay for it. They've made almost 6 billion dollars and put a mediocre product at best on the field.

It's very hard to realize how corrupt the local governments are. We pretend it's all in DC.

I recently had a business trip to the Memphis area (what a friggin dump) and when I turned in my rental car, my $35.99 per day was actually about $60.00 per day with all the dam sports fees, it was literally like 8 lines of different taxes that made little to no sense but as an outsider your required to pay and not one person can explain what they are............we just blindly pay them. F That, I am sure visitors to Houston have the same shock

This might be helpful sometimes: When you rent a vehicle in another city, try to rent from a location that is not an airport location as the taxes are often higher at airport locations because most of the time it’s out of towners as opposed to locals renting.

Yeah I worked for a rental car place in college. I can second this.
