This would hard-cap the Rockets at the 1st apron next season. Core 7, Brooks, and Durant exceed the 1st apron. To get this below 1st apron, Rockets would likely need to send an additional FRP with either Green or Brooks to Brooklyn.
They already have Cam Thomas they are planning to bring back. Not sure they want to pay a 6th man 33 million....
I bet the plan would be extend Durant and FVV to when Amen is due for extension. Brooks should be coming up about that time. That means a team of Amen, Reed, Jabari, and Sengun with a max free agent... .
[Windhorst on GetUpESPN] The Phoenix Suns are not ‘excited’ about the current offers they’re receiving from the Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, and Houston Rockets
of course they’re not excited KD isn’t demanding a massive haul in a trade regardless of what their desires are they’re gonna take what they can get before the draft…they can’t even bluff like “we’re willing to bring back KD for next season if we don’t get what we want” because we all know that’s BS
Kevin Durant will be 37 before the season starts. It will be his 18th or 19th season in the NBA? What do the Suns think they're going to get for a guy nearing the end of his career?
Yeah if the reports are accurate (which who knows at this point) then duh Phoenix shouldn’t be excited. They’re acting like KD is 30 coming off of an MVP season. Only way they get close to their demands is if a crazy desperate team goes haywire. Which in this league is totally plausible. The wild card is KD. He won’t accept an extension just anywhere.
Raptors are stupid to trade RJ Barret for KD, Broke back Mountain. Ingram and Durant With Dick feeling it around Barnes. lol
Sounds like PHX wants Eason and Bari and Hou is only willing to give up Green. PHX is now trying to gauge his trade value around the league. Rockets need to be checking to see what G upgrade could be had for Green, #10 and other picks. Focus on Garland and moving up to #3 or #4 in the draft. Or a trade for LaVine, Sexton, Murphy III, Coby White, or Derrick White. Plenty of options out there besides old man Durant and the Suns idiotic front office.
Uh… does Adam need to check in on the Raptors? They’ve been a mess since Leonard left with confusing consistently conflicting directional choice.
Rockets should be talking to Memphis abt Phoenix 2026 pick. Having Pho 26 and 27 would be like having Park Place and Boardwalk. Pho could tank and guarantee themselves a top 5 pick while they ride out Beal's contract. FVV and 26, 27 for Durant.
So is this two moves? Jalen Green + #10 for John Conchar +#16 and the '26 Phoenix pick Memphis and Houston swap places in the 2025 draft (the Grizzlies up from #16 to the #10 spot), and all it costs is the '26 Phoenix pick FVV + Phoenix 26 and 27 for Durant Lol. Not sure Phoenix is very excited about that FVV + Beal backcourt
