Rather pay Reid than Adams. Much better player!

He’s a very good player and only 25. Didn’t like seeing him disappear in multiple playoff games. We’d have to get him through sign and trade, which means giving up assets in addition to paying him big money. And I doubt Minny wants to trade him to us. Maybe if Minny wants Dillon we could work something, but seems highly unlikely we can get Naz to Houston.

In that summer I told you we should go for Naz Reid and the other thread I started was to pay Austin Reaves who we could have mathematically snatched away. Would have cost a combined $45m per season or less.

Now it's too late and that's what we have to understand. This team has a lot of people to pay now and we may add a star. You guys are already (falsely) claiming we can't pay everyone. So if you swap someone you have to pay for someone else you have to pay immediately, how does that solve the problem?

We have to find the NEXT Naz Reid and the NEXT Austin Reaves before they get expensive. The guys who are going to be worth more than their salary less than a year after signing the deal. That way you're generating a "surplus" contract that can net you draft capital or allow you to dump bad contracts easily.

    - Isaiah Stewart is going to be a special player in 1-2 years - a more mobile and tougher Myles Turner emerging there. Since last season the Pistons are in a bind because the owner for some reason loves Duren but everyone knows Stewart is the far better player. If we wait past this summer, I doubt he ever becomes available again. PERFECT fit with Jabari and Sengun. That 3PT shot is about to stabilize.

    - Duop Reath is a potential Naz Reid clone. I'd argue he can be a better 2-way player.

    - Another person we should keep an eye on is Peyton Watson. I don't think the Nuggets realize how good he is. I would offer Whitmore and a well protected future first.

    - Terance Mann is on the older side (28) but about to become a really solid role player for a contender after being freed from Lue, can provide depth at the 1/2/3. Would be very cheap FA, great backup PG/SG in case we trade FVV and also need some depth behind Jalen. Whoever signs him this summer, he will be worth more than his salary 6 months later.

I like this guy too, good motor.

Sidenote.... Everytime I see this guy he reminds me of "Reggie", that Dave Chappelle character from the Nutty Professor.

Love his spacing and quick shooting but man he is a god-awful rebounder …and maybe Ime can hide him or improve his perimeter defense

LOL no, not while we have Jabari.

I just saw a trade that was intriguing...Trae Young for Green and Sheppard (and picks).

I think maybe I'm holding on to the Trae Young from a few seasons ago when the Hawks made the WCF. Maybe it's more than 5 years at this point.

Jabari can barely get mins and Naz is a shitty defender. Do we even have cap space?

Would love to sign Naz Reid but may not be able to afford him AND Fred. Rockets should trade for a similar player but much better 3 level scorer and rim protector:

Celtics in: Dillon Brooks (39% 3P) + almost 10M in salary cap relief
Rockets in: Kristaps Porzingas (41% 3P)
Nets in: Jock Landale + 2027 pick swap (from BOS), 2025 SRP (from BOS)

Trading Dillon also opens up the congestion in the wing rotation, especially at 3 spot. Either Jabari, Tari or Cam can win the starting 3 spot outright.

[Charania] Just in: Minnesota Timberwolves' Naz Reid intends to sign a new five-year, $125 million contract to stay with the franchise, including a player option, sources tell ESPN. Critical agreement between the Wolves and Reid's agents, Sean Kennedy and Jeff Schwartz of Excel Sports.

Should this put a ceiling on what Jabari should expect if he extends with the Rockets this summer?

I hope Jabari extension is less than that.
