or the warehouse at Gallery Furniture. I thought Strom was the magician, but Brown and the current pitching coaches have taken it another level with what they are doing.

Yeah 15 games out of 70+ looks like it showed up on that attempted catch. Although truth be told it was not an easy catch.

Getting to the point that I don't recognize the names of a third of the lineup from game to game.

Having the best builpen in the league helps you win a lot of 1 run games. Who blinks first? Not Hader, Abreu and the rest of the gang.

Did you see the hitting lineup the Astros paraded today? I honestly didn’t know who some of those fellows were. I was doing some serious research… argh, and they aren’t anything to write home about.

Nevertheless don’t worry, as plenty of people can win a 100 million dollars and sulk about paying the taxes on that money.

I could see complaining about the no show offense if it were:

    Peña
    Altuve
    Paredes
    Álvarez
    Díaz
    Walker
    Myers
    Smith
    McCormick/Melton

game to game might be a lil exaggeration. usually it's the getaway game where you see the most AAA players in the lineup.

outside of that, you should mainly see AAA batters in 789 order.

My point wasn't about the offense. My point is Espada didn't do anything special this game. He trotted out a crappy lineup and there were few surprises in the offense. I was really giving credit to the guy that deserved it. Walter has pitched like a stud so far.

It is always funny how baseball fans randomly decide what a manager has control over. Last season when we lost a lot of close games that was on Espada not getting the most out of the team. Now that we are winning a lot of close games its because the players are covering for Espadas poor choices.

I'm indifferent to Espada, I'm indifferent to most managers unless they are clearly keeping superior options off the field. I've accepted that many here have made up their mind that he's an abysmal manager that's holding the team back, but aside from a few early season bullpen choices in regard to Taylor Scott, I really can't think of anything significant to complain about with Espada.

I mean he wouldn’t have had any choice but to play him with everyone hurt. Also, if Dana wanted Whitcomb to play, he would tell Joe to play him - they don’t have a Dusty/Click type relationship.

Personally I just don’t think Dana is very high on him. Also could just be hoping to sell him as a piece at the deadline without exposing him.

I only get mad about keeping superior options on the bench and putting old guys that look lost at the plate in the cleanup spot. Put them lower until they prove they aren't lost anymore.

No doubt he was thinking about the fence. To be fair, that's got to be a hellacious area for an OFer, especially one who's not familiar with it, with the way the columns stick out and all. Meyers tried to break his jaw on one of them earlier this series.

Is Walter the next big Astros pitching find ? What’s his upside ? TOR? Mid? Serviceable back end ? :)
