Orlando is sending to Memphis the No. 16 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Phoenix's first-round pick in 2026, Magic 2028 unprotected first-rounder and Orlando's 2030 unprotected first, sources said. Pick swap is lightly protected in 2029.
5 for Rudy 5 for Bridges 5 for Bane Used to be price for a superstar. Now “super” role players going for 5 picks. The actual stars going for one pick. Luka for AD/pick. KAT for Randle/pick.
So many teams have the Suns first round picks, lol. I find it funny they made a statement wanting to recoup all their picks back. I know they’re salivating at this package for a 37 yr old but that ain’t happening.
Why are people surprised? FRPs were never a highly coveted thing in the NBA.. Only bottom cellar teams and their fans give a damn about FRPs . Contending Teams go for it and I love it. .. F Dem Picks!
The Magic see their window as the next 3-4 years and I agree. Bane isn't a superstar, but he can be a difference-maker IMO.
I think some teams value the impact of a skill on there over all team. When people think of Bane they think of shooting. Orlando lacks Backcourt shooting and feel like that is keeping them from the next level. Finding a guard who is under 30 and is taller than 6'4 and can shoot and defend is harder than you think.
This is a horrible trade for the Magic. Bane isnt that good is he even as good as Derrick White? For that package they could have gotten White.
The Magic have 2 great players, they need to add shooters. It feels like an overpay, but I can absolutely see a path where Banchero/Wagner/Bane could be special with supporting roster tweaks.
