Listen to everything, believe nothing. ;)

    Stone: continuity is very likely!

Iko: Rockets have significant reservations about Durant
“While Durant is widely seen as the most attainable of that group, and he is known to be very interested in playing in Houston, team sources said the Rockets still have significant reservations about that possible partnership, in large part, because Durant’s age (36) would be so out of sync with their younger timeline. It’s worth noting that previous talks between the teams about Durant, team sources said, were initiated by the Suns.”

Also Iko: Price tag on Durant is falling
”Since the conclusion of the season, Houston has fielded several calls from Phoenix, who have since gradually lowered their asking price for Durant, those sources said. There is a price where the Rockets would be interested, but with a fear of breaking up their roster for a 36-year-old coming off injury, doubt remains over a deal materializing.”

Gambo guy: Iko is full of ****; Jalen/Jabari likely part of package; Texas teams are preferred destination

Shams: Rockets interested; Rockets/Durant shared mutual interest at deadline

Stein/Fischer: Rockets actually aren’t that interested in Durant.
•“Fischer insists that “more indications than not” suggests Houston’s interest in Durant has been overstated.”

•Marc Stein and Jake Fischer of The Stein Line (say) a Rockets pursuit of the Suns forward actually appears “less likely” than previously believed. Stein and Fischer have repeatedly reported that Houston is focused more on stars who would better fit the timeline of the team’s young core, rather than a veteran like Durant who will turn 37 later this year.

Betting odds & fake twitter insiders: Spurs are favorites; Durant to the Spurs is done!

Every single reported or not trade scenerio has the Rockets getting screwed seven ways, especially relative to what other trade packages look like from other teams. I do not buy it. Just because the Rockets have more assets does not mean they have to give up those assets. Reports of throwing in Bari, high-value FRPs, and now Sheppard, when Miami will not even trade Ware, come on, man. This is wishful thinking by the Suns and anyone making up these BS rumors or trades. This scenario has been for every rumored player the Rockets could be interested in.

Until this happens, I do not buy it for one minute. Everyone is getting stressed over nothing. However, if any of these trades were to happen then we have a bigger issue to worry about - FO´s decision making.

Edit: We think about these reports as Rockets fans, but what if all the Rockets reporting was really about SA? It would not be the first time the Rockets were used as leverage to get a better deal elsewhere. My money is on KD going to the Spurs for a reasonable package like #14, Barnes, and Vassell. Why would the Rockets or Suns report to anyone that they are willing to overpay? The only likely reason is for ANOTHER team to up their offer.

he doesn’t make Miami championship contender. I don’t even know if he gets them in the top four in the east.

NY would have to part with one of their big four players and while it might make them marginally better offensively they certainly take a step back defensively.

I don’t buy the timeline with San Antonio.

And with Minnesota I just don’t know if they can make the logistics work.

to me it seems like we are almost the perfect and only destination.

Maybe we just pivot to Trey Murphy and give the Pelicans, Brooks, Bari or Tari and a few future picks.

Not sure on cap figures, but figure it will be something like:

    Jalen Green
    Cam Whitmore
    Tari Eason
    Landale
    #10
    +1 future suns pick

Would like to pickup a late one for a backup big to replace Adams...

Hard to see them want to move Brooks or FVV as much as they like them... that leaves Jalen...

This is the problem of having too many good guys on your team: your own fans don’t know how much the guys are valued at. I love TMIII but Bari himself is prolly better as a player impact / value wise to a winning team, come on.

If that's the price, I'll pass and let our guys develop.

Even the Spurs didn't make sense. I think KD to Miami or Minnesota make more sense. But then Minnesota don't have any pick.

Just say no to Kevin Durant. He just isn't worth it anymore. Pacers and Thunder are showing us the new way to a championship and that is depth.

Normally I would agree but they way I look at it:

Cam seems out of favor and isn't going to get minutes.

Tari will be due for an extension soon. He's great as a role player but not sure worth the cap space to keep long term.

Jalen isn't going to get many shots with Durant being alpha.

I would want verbal on 1 or 2 year extension...

this is definitely not true, and I bet all other 29 teams would take Murphy over Jabari with ease

Murphy is way better than Jabari

Yeah, sorry I’d have to disagree to a large degree.

This! Durant is on a one year $55 million contract. The only way you trade for him is if you think this the last hurrah this next year with an aging veteran group - the exact opposite of the Rockets. I don’t trust Stone. But I trust him more than the average random trade thread poster on clutchfans

They’re not trading FVV. That’s why a lot of trades you see in the media are the Rockets giving up way more value than other teams because the Rockets put themselves in a harder bind to make the contracts work. We’ll basically be bailing the Suns out for all of the crappy trades the owner has made by giving up several more quality players and picks to jumpstart their rebuild.

I don’t want FVV & KD on the same team. Both miss 20+ games. F*ck around and miss the playoffs. West is too tight to rely on both. Favoring Fred over depth is a mistake. Just swap Fred for KD and save some youth
