92 win formula Valdez/Brown (win 2 out of 3) 17-9 All others (win half) 19-19 Win tomorrow and we are exactly on pace.
And Bregman has got the same brutal thigh injury from a couple of years ago so he'll give them only 65% of a full season.
After the early disaster in Seattle in which he tried to give away all 3 games (gave away 2), he's done a masterful job with the usage of the pen and a starting rotation held together with duct tape. This team probably shouldn't be 36-28 given the circumstances of no Yordan and the figure it out as you go starting rotation. Yet here we are.
He might be the player of the game. Easily could have lost that game in the 6th. Dude came in and just dropped his nuts on them
I have long been critical of Espada, but the results are the results. It’s not like there are many significant players from the ‘22 team still playing right now.
Props to Espada's improvement...until he does something stupid, but he's been better. I would really like him to work on his interviews and/or just not say anything much.
There are two main things I feel a manager is ultimately responsible for every game (as opposed to the other coaches or just the players): 1. Bullpen utilization/sequencing 2. Players showing strong effort - and repercussions or actions in situations where they don’t. Lineup stuff tends to even out… whether you have tinkerers or you have set it and forget its…. But Pena has proven everybody wrong with year to year K improvement, and just blossoming into the type of bonafied leadoff threat the team hasn’t had since Springer. Whether Espada had no choice but to recognize that… or somehow the move to leadoff triggered another level out of him… it was a great action/result.
You're the p***y rooting for the team to lose because you don't like 1 player who happens to be very good. Like all the others said, f*ck you!
Oh he hates Espada too. He wants the Astros to lose so that Espada will be fired. He wants Diaz and Chas to suck because he thinks it will justify how Dusty screwed them and the team over.
Pena and Myers have been big surprises. They both have made significant improvements. Diaz may be coming around. The left field experiment with Altuve should end. Not crazy about some of the lineups, but the players seem to be playing hard. Walker has been an expensive disappointment so far. Getting Yordan back will be a power boost. Pitching looks strong even with some of our best pitchers out. An addition or subtraction could push this team into elite status.
Their fans on reddit are having a complete meltdown. They are about to drop below .500 after a scorching run in April
