I agree this is a non-issue, non-story, but I would have been more excited if Jalen got a Ray Allen tattoo, tbh.
I get the idea of the tattoo but it's very cheesily executed haha. The idea is you can be a tough motherf*cker and wear nail polish, which I'm sorry to tell you old farts is the future of the NBA. It's just going to get more prominent every year and you will keep whining about the good ol' days. The silver lining I'll take out of it is that he seems to understand that mental toughness has absolutely nothing to do with appearance and that he should double down on toughness rather than retreat on his appearance. Dwayne Wade wore nail polish and wore a dress, Rodman wore a wedding dress, Jordan cared about jewelry more than most men, I've seen Westbrook and Kobe in some controversial gender neutral attire too, etc. Ime Udoka can only coach defense and toughness and - unprompted by questions - he has praised Jalen's mental toughness and resilience. Every time the kid has been knocked down, you find him in the gym the next day and he keeps being a team player. Not worried for his career though it's an unfortunate tattoo.
Players acting and dressing fruity is just a fad that will pass.... and then return one day before passing again. We've seen it all before
Mobley is overated, but I’d rather have him than Jalen, but saying we should have drafted him is the worst kind of hindsight. He would not sign with us. He and his father made that very clear. He wouldn’t work out for us. We also probably wouldn’t have gone after Sengun, who is the better player. It’s water under the bridge and because of Sengun we are better off for it.
That's just BS people made up to try and justify the awful Jalen Green pick. He didn't work out for any team other than the Pistons. There was never any suggestion he wouldn't sign with any team. When fans want to justify picking a clearly inferior player, they have to come up with BS like that, but it was never true.....just like their lies about Jalen having a "legendary work ethic" That said, it is water under the bridge at this point. The embarrassing mistake has been made and there's nothing we can do to change it.
At what point in Jalen's career did you expect him to be good at taking 8+ attempts and being good at it? It wasn't in his draft scouting report nor any of his first 3 seasons. I'm fine with his progress in jump shooting. No one on the roster can take 8+ attempts and make 35.5% (maybe Holiday?). I'm more interested in him getting to the rim, and for us to demand that from him we have to actually unpack the paint of the 17 people that are in there all the time.
Evan Mobley did not want to play with Kevin Porter Jr. because he talked to people at USC Coaches, Kevin is disliked at USC, he was suspended at USC. Evan Mobley was right.
I don't find it weird at all - if it was their husband or first love. Maybe if it was their father or grandfather. But that's about it. After that, it's weird.
