Yea, Trump is the most powerful president in recent memory and Elon is picking a fight with him and the federal government because what again? Might all be staged so he can salvage his companies but who knows?

His entire universe is based around quid-pro-quo. The moment he can no longer extract value from you, you're dead to him.

That being said, Trump won this trade by mile.

Elon got to play President for a few weeks and now gets to wear the DOGE stain instead of Trump for eternity.

 

Losing government contracts or hell even having them be questioned would be one hell of a play to save his role with his companies.

If Tesla threw Elon out and hired someone who said one nice thing about like trees and the earth, Tesla sales and its stock would skyrocket. Trump is a republican whose loyalty will always be to the oil oligarchs first. The EV mandates were always going to get trashed under Trump but be picked back up with a Dem wins in 28. Especially after the insane damage we are likely to see with the next few hurricane seasons with a gutted NOA and FEMA. EV’s will be popular in the long run and Tesla would be smart to throw Elon out regardless. Play the long game for that brand.

SpaceX is in a different spot where Elon leaving the White House and having a breakup is massively counterproductive for them.

Either way I don’t think this breakup is staged. Those two clowns had way too much to gain being tied at the hips but everything Trump touches burns so it was never going to last. They had a lot to gain but maybe more to lose by breaking up which is why I think people behind the scenes are probably trying everything they can to have them make nice.

This is effectively why the Democrat party has become a bunch of losers like the Republican party. You guys are intolerant and insulting to anyone who even moderately disagrees with you. As a hardcore democrat voter, you never take responsibility and instead demean and make excuses for your party's selfish and stupid decisions.

 

I find the tech bros influence on politics more dangerous than a setback on a space station. Musk's wealth isn't tied up completely in Tesla. That's a small percentage so I would like to see his influence curb stomped by going after where his money is. Cut his subsidies and contracts and watch his influence dwindled.
