While we have advanced alien technology for our pitchers, the medical equipment leaves a lot to be desired: Actual Astros imaging equipment:
I root for accurate diagnosis and not causing setbacks by playing/rehabbing while still injured. McCullers France Tucker Wesneski Yordan How many times do we need to see it.
I don't know what we're seeing. We're not doctors. We do know the Astros will never give us much on injury reports. Maybe that comes from having Methodist as a major sponsor. Tucker wasn't going to come back sooner just because they told the fans that he had a fracture. I haven't seen anything today to say Yordan caused himself a setback to recover from a hand fracture.
Not sure in this case with Alvarez. The more obvious one is Tucker last year. They kept saying Tucker was coming back soon. Then AFTER the trade deadline they said he had a fracture. They were trying to trade for a bat and didn't want teams to think they were desperate.
All I'm saying is maybe get imaging again after the inflammation is gone and before starting rehab? Tell me everything tell me nothing. Who cares but know exactly what it is and that it IS healed before starting to rehab
You're right, they're not obligated to be open about injuries; however, after Tucker last year and Yordan this year they look incompetent at best. This medical staff should be mercilessly shamed for their ineptitude.
Lol. God forbid fans who pour money, time and energy into their hometown team want some sort of transparency or truth. What an absurd ask.
The laws med staff operate under (Hippa) require that they not speak to anyone but the patient about their condition. Any information we get is coming from elsewhere.
Is it incompetence or just "hopeful exuberance" that he'd be back sooner? I don't see why either matters a fuknut at all to fans? He back or he ain't? He'll be back when he's back. Yall keep taking this as some sort of personal affront that they're not posting his MRI results and such...get the hell over it and move on.
I don't care how it happened, you let your franchise player take BP with a fractured hand. That's organizational malpractice. It takes all of our pitchers a year longer to rehab than everyone else, they suffer more setbacks than everyone else. It took an extra year for Lance to get a surgery in 2024 that he should've gotten in 2023. I've seen enough of this bs medical staff.
In my opinion this is a hamate and needs surgery, and it's been ongoing for a couple years. Just a guess.
Yes- swinging a bat was bad news with a fractured hand. The idea that once it gets to 70% it can’t get hurt any worse is absurd. What a bunch of dummies.
