literally everyone’s talking about him being traded mainly because how he was signed they don’t have any extra ability to extend him and he will for sure. Be an unrestricted free agent next year and probably garnering near Max Basically, they’re gonna lose him next year, no matter what because they would have to have cap space in order to offer him a market offer because of the restrictions on his extension. It’s something like they can only offer him 140% more than what is salary was this year which would align with us great if we kept FVV option and we could either let him go or sign to a team, friendly deal and be able to re-sign white
I would work a SNT for this guy cause he a great scorer and legit defender would be perfect for our team especially if we don’t make a big trade
Great scorer? 6 years in the league and averages 8.6 ppg. We either got vastly different ideas for great scorer or you’re trolling right?
Please let's not have this in the "trade 10 pick" thread.... Like, would I give up a 2nd rounder for him? Maybe. Plenty of equivalent dudes for vet min though, and they won't cost assets
Apparently, literally everyone but me, I guess. Do not see Kobe White as an Ime type of player, and with Kobe due a large pay bump, do the rockets want to spend it on him? If so, better have a new home for Jalen too. No way we trade for Kobe with Jalen still on the team. Would be ecstatic if this was a viable option for the Rockets. Been waiting years for the rockets to pick up a shooter in a trade or FA that could contribute right away. I thought this last offseason was the obvious time to do it with the MLE, but Stone squandered that away, and instead picked up some garbage 2nd rounders. Watching a team with no shooting is becoming depressing.
Well, looking at someone’s career averages doesn’t tell you much Do a little research on how he’s played for the wolves and how important he’s been to the team and his stats this year Got a new opportunity new system and he’s been really good in it and he has been a leader on the defense… He’s like a poor man’s Alex Caruso
oh yeah, I agree with everything you said I think, especially the last part And if you made a trade for him, which might be something like the 10th pick and Whitmore and salary filler Then that would just empower you to move Green for another player like a gianiss or Zion or whatever
Not a bad thought. I don't think I would ever trade for Zion at any price though, haha. Dude single-handedly ruined one rebuild already and he's only getting worse (less healthy, less productive, more bad stuff emerging about him). I wonder if there's any chance at all Memphis would send us JJJ + salary filler for Jalen + Jabari + picks in this scenario. Leaving our rotation looking something like Amen, White, Brooks, JJJ, Sengun, FVV, Reed, Tari, Adams (if re-signed). For me, that is a monster defensive team with decent shooting that granted, still doesn't have a #1 offensive option yet (but probably will when Amen reaches his ceiling).
I am not so sure about great scorer. He was scouted coming out of college as a natural scorer, and compared to Jordan Clarkson. I think he could maintain a high level of efficiency while increasing his volume, but being called a natural scorer is a bit misleading. He is not someone you want initiating plays or being in primary actions. He does; however, have solid basketball IQ, so he makes the right decisions and looks pretty fluid out there. He is a natural scorer in that sense - Makes the most of his abilities by making the right decisions. knowing when to fake, when to attack a closeout. Things like that. I think he has more of a chance of being a great shooter than scorer. He was really solid this year from deep, which matches his scouting report coming out of college. For this current roster, he is best suited as a backup unless we replace Freddy with a PG that can playmake (ffs), and I do not even include Jalen into the equation on purpose. NAW is for sure gone. Randle will most likely pick up his PO, and Reid will not, and Minnesota will prefer to keep Reid over NAW. Would love Reid on this team, also. NAW should not even command the full MLE, especially with how little money there is this offseason, and the guard FA market is relatively deep for rotation players. Seems like an IME player, too, and one that can freaking shoot to boot. Have a feeling, though, that the Rockets won´t utilize the MLE yet again. Grimes would be my first pick, but NAW is a close second.
that would be probably my favorite trade Apparently, they’re trying to go after Durant so if we made some kinda three team trade where the suns got some of their picks back Maybe Memphis would consider that Memphis got players for depth Suns got pics and cap relief and a decent player or too
https://dunkingwithwolves.com/nickeil-alexander-walker-became-what-the-wolves-need-worst-time yet all mainstream media is trying to force his way to the Lakers or thunder next year because he’s a really good scorer, decent playmaker and excellent defender “12 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists on 43.1/41.4/80 shooting splits” assuming in the Western Conference finals
This is the type of trade to keep Stone’s pick arb scheme going and I’m all up for it. But after getting burned by Stone last time this year I doubt Marks does it.
I love him. Great rotation player. The problem is that we are so deep. I think if we make a consolidation trade he’s exactly the guy we need to bring in.
