So the Nets already have the 2025 number 8, 19, 26, and 27 picks which is one lottery pick. My guess is the Nets will consolidate some of their picks for better picks (now or in the future) or for a roster upgrade.

Nets in: Dillon Brooks, #10

Rockets upgrade from Brooks and trade back for more picks to use in another trade or so. Nets get a lottery pick and a veteran perimeter defender.

Cam Johnson is much better than Claxton and Coby White. In fact, he's one the best shooters in the entire NBA. It continually surprises me how many Rockets fans are reluctant to add an elite shooter to a team that doesn't shoot very well. Moreover, Cam Johnson can actually do some stuff with the ball unlike most other current Rockets. His advanced metrics would make him the third or fourth-best player on our roster depending on which you are looking at.

He's a mediocre defensive player and a poor rebounder but he's an elite role player due to offense and efficiency. Should OKC not have traded for Alex Caruso because he was on a bad team?

I disagree with everything about your argument. If we had Cam Johnson instead of Jalen Green, we would have made the 2nd round of the playoffs. It's not impossible that the 10th pick in the draft becomes better than Cam Johnson. It's just really unlikely.

Not a giant Jalen fan, but his breakout streaks have been unworldly and he is still just 22 years old, making his potential still very viable. He also reportedly has a terrific work ethic. Jalen bears a lot of responsibility for his lack of progress, but other GM’s and coaches can look at the position that his coach has put him in and his lack of playing with a decent PG and re-imagine his role on their team. They will try to low-ball us, but I don’t think Stone and Ime are as down on him as Rockets fans are.

He was 39% from 3 last year. Dillon was 39.7% from 3. Neither player rebounds worth a crap, but Dillon is still a very good defender. Cam is not worth the 10th pick or straight up for Dillon. I think Ime would choke Stone out if he traded Dillon for Cam

 

Cam Johnson was 56th in the nba in FG% among qualified players, Dillon Brooks was 104th out of 117.

Cam Johnson was 21st in the league in TS%, Dillon Brooks was 143rd.

Cam Johnson was 44th in the league in VORP, Dillon Brooks was 208th

Ime would definitely cry himself to sleep if the trade was done.... but Cam is many times the player Dillon is.
