The delusion must stop, all these guys have peaked at 22, trade them for Giannis Just kidding, very happy for him and well deserved. Amen and these young guys will only get better over the years. Great job Stone for drafting him as well.
I must admit, I could see the athleticism and imagine a path to greatness, but damn this kid is MEAN on the defensive end. That intensity paired with that athleticism is absolutely lethal. I think the team's his for the taking tbh, and it won't take a huge jump for him to supplant Alpi as the main guy (it's definitely Alpi's team the last 2 years I think tbh.)
So weird what I had hoped he'd be when we drafted him by year 5 and how by year 2 he's so completely different, but with the potential to be even better. Congrats!
Same. I’ll even admit, I didn’t like the pick at first…. But I was wrong. His potential is unbelievable, surround him with good players and coaches please.
I would say he went from "great" to "very good". He is still very impactful on the defensive end, just not the absolute monster he was. Some of that might be because he's having to expend too much energy on offense on that team though. Amen is better right now in any case
Guys are at the top of their shooting motion, and Amen's feet is still on the floor, and yet Amen is so quick and lanky, he manages to block the shot. Amazing.
Crazy thing is, Amen now has each player's vote tally memorized and will use it as motivation to be DPOY
Amen has had so many crazy defensive highlights this year like when he blocked SGA and Evan Mobley. Just insane second jump and recovery time. I’m suprised he got it not because he doesn’t deserve it but because the media doesn’t give us any good coverage. First team all defense in his second year is crazy.
Kind of crazy Sengun did what he did against an all nba first teamer, in his first year in the playoffs. Imagine thinking you don't build around that guy hahahah you can't reason with stupid. Amen and Alpi. A++ I'm upset he didn't get most improved player of the year, and in turn making me major bank. This is the next best thing because he hopefully now gets that clout and respect from the officials being a stud defender, he's allowed extra content with no whistle.
I'm not halfway through the clip yet, funny that there's quite a few plays where Amen has to make up for Jalen's putrid defense.
Well deserved. If this kid ever develops a serviceable jumpshot we're probably looking at a career with 3-5 1st team All-NBA appearances. You guys trying to put him in the Giannis trade talks are nuts.
