With catch and shoot 3's he went from making 1 out of 3.1 to making 1.3 out of 3.3, it's nice that he made more, but this isn't some game changing improvement, it comes off as more of small sample statistical noise. Also, when it comes to his overall 3 point shooting, he has improved 1.1% in the past 4 years, if he doubles that improvement this summer, that would make him hit the 3 at the NBA average for his position for the very first time ever. I'm not sure if doubling the improvement over 4 years in just one offseason is realistic, but I'd be really happy if it happened.

Listen I can exchange poo-flinging forever but that’s all meaningless. If you want to discuss the actual points, let’s discuss them. If you’re not satisfied even if he were a 1B scorer to a 30ppg MVP candidate, you’re not a rational person. That’s still the Numero Uno of the players we drafted. He would benefit most from Giannis’ presence and Giannis would benefit most from his presence. Amen is an extremely awkward fit with Giannis. Sengun to a lesser extent. Green the least. A guy who can make 41% of his catch and shoot 3’s is not getting shoehorned. He got shoehorned into this role in the first place and instead of whining, he just adapted. An almost 10% increase in catch and shoot 3’s. That’s elite catch and shoot efficiency. He’s exceptional in transition - where Giannis thrives. If you throw him the ball and Giannis is the only non-shooter on the floor, we’re going to see for the first time in years what he’s capable of doing with a vertical threat in the PnR. The shots on this team have been way more difficult than average for 4 years now. Everyone is struggling, no I do not believe everyone sucks at offense on this team. If you think anyone is going to feel ashamed about getting average-difficulty shots, you’re mistaken. A normal offense has mediocre spacing and doesn’t have a packed paint 82 games a season. All our draftees deserve that just like any other young stars. I’m very excited for the possibility that after 4 years of no space to drive and teams having the luxury of treating Jalen Green like he’s a 30ppg scorer what it would be like to have mediocre spacing and teams treating Jalen like a 1B or 1C for one season. No one ever claimed Jalen Green can take the worst spaced team in the NBA - built around someone else - to the top. If you wanted that, you should have built the team around him. If you didn’t think he deserved to have the team built around him, then to you he was always a 1B or 1C. You can’t have it both ways. I don’t know why anyone would complain about this. This is so exciting for our future. He always hits the gym hard when he struggles and a better Jalen Green paired with Giannis is a great fit.
The best compliment for a center that can't score outside of 3 feet from the rim is definitely a SG with the 11th worst fg% among qualified players in the entire league and the 162nd ranked TS% in the league. He'll definitely provide spacing for days...
Should have stopped reading after this cause I knew everything following would be madly delusional. If we get Giannis Jalen is definitely gone sooner or later buddy. Say goodbye to your fetish.
Let's just be honest, you're acting like you stopped reading cause you ain't got **** to say. It's very clear from your posts your understanding of the game is very surface level, and this is too much for you. Keep dreaming, if Giannis is coming Jalen is the least likely to be traded. He's a perfect starting SG on a Giannis-led team.
So now Jalen bumping his knee in game 5 is being used as an excuse? 1st it was that there’s no spacing, then it was Ime is a sh*tty offensive coach…then it got changed to Jalen was just doing what Ime wanted, but that wasn’t convincing, so the new excuse was that GS was gearing their defense towards stopping him…now it’s the knee, and next week it will probably be his baby mama or something
Is this actual self delusion or is this just desperate spin? The Rockets have the least efficient scoring backcourt in the league.... if the Rockets trade for Giannis, BOTH Jalen and FVV have to go to surround Giannis with shooters.... and it has to happen immediately because Giannis only has a few years left of quality basketball left in him. Remember how the mindless Jalen fanbois cry about Sengun not being a better 3 point shooter? Giannis has even less range.
He’s committed to this so bad he can’t back away from it. I’d be too if I was dedicating huge chunks of my life to JG propaganda writing novellas and stuff. Or he’s trying to gaslight us. You can’t expect to put this out there and have people take you or your ball knowledge seriously, so no other explanation.
FVV is the smallest toe of Dame Lillard, if Dame cannot work, I doubt Jalen and FVV can, this is just reality. Also Giannis must be one of the dumbest individuals to come to the West when the West is at the highest peak of competition....maybe he wants to fight for 2nd Round.
I don’t think trading Jalen has to be an outcome of trading for Giannis, but saying he is the perfect fit with Giannis is a bit much. If he was a great 3 point shooter than yes he would be a great fit. If we get Giannis then you build around Amen and Giannis by providing high level shooters at the other 3 positions. We already have one at PF in Jabari. Dillard was great from the 3 point land this year, but that should be Giannis position. To me both of Sengun and Jalen need to become proficient from 3 or they should be traded for better fits. You don’t ever trade a future superstar, because of fit. Amen is a future superstar, Jalen and Sengun are not. They could be frequent all-stars with the right coach and system, but not with Ime unless they become knockdown 3 point shooters.
Exactly where I'm at. I don't know if I trade Amen for anybody, at least in a realistic trade. Like sure if it's straight-up for a top 5 player in his prime, and no other combination of assets works for the other team, I guess I could see it. But of course that's not going to happen, both for salary cap rules, and also because the other team wouldn't like the look of it. You don't send Amen and a bunch of draft picks and other contracts out even for a guy like Giannis or Luka. Even if you don't believe he's a future #1 (I do), he's the most important piece to keep in order to have a team good enough for a superstar to want to play here. That's what "untouchable" means in practical terms--nobody is truly 100% untouchable. That's not the case for Jalen or even Sengun. In the right deal you move them at this point IMO. But it has to be a good trade for the organization. I also agree that I don't think Jalen is all that good of a fit with Giannis. He's too ball-dominant and too easy to trap once the ball is in his hands. The best fits around Giannis are elite catch-and-shoot guys, off-ball movement shooters, who can get the ball to him in the PnR. Jalen isn't that, and he never will be. He's a guy who likes to dribble and either drive or take a stepback jumper.
Hopefullly he's lying in an effort to salvage Jalen's trade value, but if he's not....damn Ime is dumb. Imagine thinking Jalen being complete dogshit in the playoffs was a "badge of honor"....SMH.
He’s been saying the same thing since Game 3 why would he start lying now… you just fail to accept the actual fact that JG is playing how Ime and the Rockets want him too despite the fact that doesn’t greatly benefit his skillset.. Kerr can say it, GS players can say it, Ime and Rocket players and GM can say it and you will still run over here and be like they all lying
"teams are focusing on him solely and if they take him out they can win the series" Never listen to what people say. Watch what they do. We know that Ime doesn't even believe that by the way he runs his offense and who he gives the ball to at the end of games. When the Rockets need a bucket at the end of games he'd rather give the ball to Sengun to Iso at the top of the three point line than trust Jalen to generate a bucket. We've seen who he trusts in those situations several times and it's Sengun. They keep making these statements that alienate his teammates and excuse his poor performance by putting the blame on them. If I'm one of the other Rockets players hearing this doesn't sit right with me. Honestly, this leads me to believe they are actively trying to trade him because now if they bring him back whenever he's bad (which is not a rare occurrence) his teammates will catch the heat because that's the narrative they've built.
you sit here and typed that out - what was the Rockets record when JG scores over 30? Hell over 25? They don’t have to worry about stopping Alpi cause he shoots less 50% in the paint and even if he makes the shot it’s giving up 2 at most. He went to Alpi 2x to win or tie games all year… He went to Amen once and to JG 2x I can think off top of my head - it’s not you it’s not me, it’s us… Ime draws up plays based on which matchup he stubbornly thinks is best - he doesn’t make adjustments (his former assistant coach said he was Shocked to finally see Rockets running zone because they told him run it in Boston and he refused)
