I agree that divisions are meaningless if division winners don't get an big advantage in the playoffs. If they want to change that then they might as well scrap divisions altogether. Wooohoo, we won our division! We beat out those 3 teams!!! It's not like beating out three other teams for the division will be something to get all excited about anymore. It's not like neighborhood rivals. Hell, they don't even speak the same accent in our division, being 750 to a thousand miles away.
Thanks for sharing @Buck Turgidson I truly enjoyed that video! As a kid, I read... The Over-The-Hill Gang: The George Allen Years Of Washington Redskins History I was curious about the approach he used to revitalize the team and also Diron Talbert (DT) was a grad of my HS ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diron_Talbert ).
You think they will? We'd still make the playoffs regardless, but having a home field advantage by winning the division is great for the hometown fans. Otherwise, a division win would be kind of meaningless really. I'd watch football over any other sports regardless, and it's not even close. It's by far my favorite sport to watch. Always has been.
Yep, under this proposal there isn't a good reason to have divisions. With no divisions there's not really rivalries. Rivalry games are what helped make the NFL what it is today. That and the gamblers/ fantasy football players. To them they dont care where games are played, only that they get to bet on games. FF players only care about how their players are doing. This is why you are starting to get more overseas games every year.
I don't like taking the games overseas, but it's all about money to those wealthy owners, and selling more merchandise to people who mainly prefer European football anyway.
I asked one of the AI demons and here is what they wrote back: J.J. Watt played approximately 84.5% of his snaps as an edge defender, according to Behind the Steel Curtain. This includes 702 snaps as a left edge defender and 134 snaps as a right edge defender. He also played snaps at other positions, including left end, right end, and defensive tackle/nose tackle. I think thats one season, but feels like his whole career to me
