The problem I still have with it is KD is maybe a year or two from being finished in the league and his production could plummet or he could have a career-ending injury at any time. If the cost was effectively free in terms of trade assets, or very close to it, sure. I just think Phoenix is going to ask for multiple FRPs and a good young player.
Well, I for one am completely against trading Sengun. He's here for life as far as I am concerned. That is an interesting trade though.
Fred and #10 for KD Jalen and Dillon for Coby White Sign Grimes White/Reed Grimes/Holiday Amen/Tari/Cam Durant/Bari Sengun/Adams we still have all of our picks
Assume Boston wants to do a one year tank and also reset their cap situation for an overpay for a Robin. This assumes we see Amen as the future #1 on the team. Celtics trade: - Jaylen Brown Rockets trade - Jalen Green - Tari Eason - Jock Landale - #10 pick - 2027 Phoenix 1st - 2028 swap rights - 2nd best 2029 1st Resign Adams to ~ MLE Extend Fred for 3 yrs 80M PG: FVV, Sheppard, Holiday SG: Jaylen Brown, Nate Williams SF: Amen Thompson, Cam PF: Dillon Brooks, Jabari, min FA C: Sengun, Adams, Min FA
Ty Jerome as a free agent .... made the minimum this year, shot .439 from distance from 3 on higher volume than Jalen Green, almost 4 assists a game and a positive defensive BPM. Maybe MLE money?
no SG can attack the paint and finish consistently in this offense .. JG shot 35% from 3 and 40% on catch and shoot 3s… and he played D for the most part largely improved … Name the SGs who can match or were better at his cost or cheaper ….that list is extremely short
as a backup SG off bench yes… starter no… soon as teams start paying him any attention he would disappear …his stats are slightly inflated cause so many of his shots are wide open
I’ve been saying for a couple months my dream off season would be Durant and Jerome off the bench Amen / Reed / Jerome Green / Jerome KD / Cam Jabari / Brooks or Tari Sengun / Adams That would fix most our shooting issues
That is an INSANE overpay. Brown is an albatross contract, if you are taking that money on you have to get assets in return. Something like green, brooks for brown and 2 unprotected firsts you could consider but giving up FOUR firsts to take on that deal is lunacy, on the level of the Westbrook trade if not worse.
Our MLE money is 5.7m if no other moves are made to get us to the 14.1m non-tax mle. Is that enough? I guess maybe a sign and trade with a couple of 2nd rounders.
how much are you going to miss from a swap in 2028 (should be swapping late first rounders at that point if you swap at all)? And a mid-late first in 2029? Those extra firsts is so they can justify why they are breaking up last years championship team.
Idk how you already know where the 29 pick would be but again, if you are taking on a horrific contract you need to get assets back for it. Taking on brown should get at least 2 unprotected firsts from Boston and zero picks going out.
it’s the 2nd best of Dallas, BKN or Houston in 2029. Rockets keep the best. He’s an all Star and finals MVP its nonsense to say they’d have to attach two unprotected firsts to trade him.
