There were contrarians on here, when it really became obvious that it made zero sense to start Maldy over Diaz or to bench a red hot Chas, that wanted to pretend as if they understood Dusty’s thinking. They wanted to pretend as if they had a deeper understanding of the situation because they were so smart. It was total horseshitt.

I honestly don't remember when my dad first took me. I would venture to say I've been to more games than you. I just don't like how you make a ton of things about race. If you're a Stros fan, cool, I'll respect that, but let's keep that stuff out of the forum

    I wanted to elaborate.

Baker clearly plays favorites. It's always been his MO. I understand he likes to be a players manager but until he was gifted that amazing team (which he always has been ) he couldn't win a WS. I just feel that we won despite him.

They definitely do. I'm definitely not suggesting otherwise. That said, I think you or I (as well as a few posters on here) could have filled out that lineup card and managed the bullpen better. All we'd have to do is be awake for the entire game lol.

We all were. No need for any proof. I read your posts. I know where you stand. Always well thought out. Go Stros

I was talking about playing time. I know that we have to keep Cam in the lineup (hopefully that idea isn't lost). I love Meyers defense and his bat started hot but Chas is good defensively. The elephant in the room is my favorite player in Altuve. There's no way to sit him down with all he's done for the franchise but he can't hit and defensively can't play LF. When Yordan comes back what do you do?

He's a racist clown. I'm going to give @Mr.Scarface the benefit of the doubt (not that my opinion matters). Rvo doesn't deserve any leeway

You can't honestly argue he's a fan. He's a troll who never did anything but defend athletes and in this case Dusty because of their race. Check his post history. He's absolute garbage

This sub forum is awesome. Just don't want to see it become toxic. Alleviate yourself from the situation. Tell me what you'd do with the Stros at the deadline?. Target's, trade chips, ect..

    Genuinely asking

IMO Maldy/Diaz and Chas/? can't really be compared.

    1) The reasons given to play Maldy over Diaz were unable to be debunked. The reasons to sit Chas were outdated, unfair, and frequently inaccurate.

    2) Despite age and serious decline, Maldy was a legitimate and respected veteran who had contributed to team success in the past. The players Dusty played ahead of Chas were just a collection of JAGs.

    3) At some point and to some extent, players commented on wanting Maldy. I don't recall any players ever commenting on wanting any player over Chas.

As for Dusty, I think, he was a good, not great, and certainly not open-minded manager. He should make the HOF and I'm fine with that because baseball is a team game and many players/managers have success largely due to those around them. Success is still success. Baseball is also a game of failure, every hitter gets out 60% of the time, every manager losses 40% of their games, given enough time. Every move works sometimes and blows up other times.

At the time, I was tired of his message and managerial style and wanted a change. Sometimes you need to be careful what you wish for.

There's always somebody worse out there.

Some pains just never go away. Whenever the name Maldinado surfaces I cringe.

I don't think we brought it up. If I never hear Dusty or Maldy again I'm good.

Want to hear 6 runs and Seattle losses.

Dude, you guys make it about race because we supported Dusty. Projecting much? We just responded. If you cant see how this team performed under Dusty that is on you. And that is sad. To dismiss the man's accomplishments and basically call him a DEI hire is ****ing disrespectful. Of course we are going to respond to that nonsense.

Put Altuve back st second 90% of the time. Not like we have any options there anyways that are appealing.

I am moving closer to this opinion. It’s not like Altuve is unplayable at 2B and there aren’t many good options. Just move him back for the rest of this season and re-address it in the offseason. Altuve serving as a bat roving between 2B, LF, and DH 40 games each from 2026-2029 is fine and won’t block anybody.

Your first sentence on #1 is simply not true. There were no good reasons to play Maldy over Diaz and whatever Dusty came up with was definitely “debunked” by even casual fans.
