If you refuse to include Amen, then it's got to be Sengun. And if it's got to be Sengun, then you need to hold on to Bari. Can't give up all of our size, not to mention one of our best shooters.

Bari being " reported" to being apart of any Giannis trades must be from the viewpoint of the Bucks, so does not mean this remains true for the Rockets. I highly doubt it. Bari is a player any team can fit into their roster and be productive. Giving up any players that would work well with Giannis makes no sense. Hope the Giannis trade never happens.

You can't include Jabari in a trade for Giannis.

Jabari can shoot and stretches the floor.

Does swapping Sengun for Giannis open up any space or do anything for Jalen? I really like Sengun and the window we have w him, but if he is traded I I also do not want to sell low on Jalen without seeing if things change for him w Giannis. In the last 40 years only Shaq, Kawhi, and Lebron have been the best players that were not drafted by a championship team. So the odds are stacked against us if we are going to try and build a team through super star trades.

That is making it seem like there's some inherent viability via drafting superstars that doesn't exist when you acquire a superstar.

It's simply that acquiring "the best player" is historically very rare, because... they're the best players! They don't move very much in their prime. Cause they're good!

Of course you're just not going to see them winning lots of titles. You're literally talking about a sample size of like 30 individual players. That's a symptom not a cause.

Getting Giannis is trying to win now.

You are keeping VanVleet, Smith, Brooks, Thompson. Your banking on Thompson being able to mesh with GA on offense.

and then you’re hoping Whitmore and Reed workout.

I guess the eye test for me also pointed to Jalen being improved at the catch and shoot. If he sticks around, he gets rained in pretty significantly on offense with that usage going to Giannis.

Sengun/Tari/#10/Future first seems fair. Whomever suggested Vucevic, that works well, and I also feel like Adam has a place on this team.

    Vuc/Adams
    Giannis/Smith
    Amen/Brooks
    Jalen/Cam
    FVV/Reed

maybe in this lineup, you start Cam and you see how that goes.

Something else about acquiring Giannis--if you don't think he's like, right at the cliff of a steep decline, and you don't have to overpay to get him--you can always trade him in two or three years and reload on assets if Amen does, indeed, look like a true #1 by that time.

For me, any time a player of his caliber becomes available and he's still in his peak years--you have to at least give it a shot. I mainly just don't want to overpay for him. For me a fair deal is like, Sengun, Eason, three FRPs. Maybe throw Cam in there if necessary. Anything more than that and the risk factors related to his age and not having a good enough roster/enough flexibility start to concern me.

Same, I’d rather build on our growth this year.

Amen needs to continue to get better at shooting, ball handling and honestly just needs Jalen to take a back seat.

Sengun needs to bring back that year 1-3 touch around the basket. I’ve given up on him being a shooter

Jalen needs to get stronger and watch film on Anthony Edwards

Jabari need to work on his handle and needs way more 3PAs next season

I’m sure Reed and Cam will be important bench pieces next season

If the Rockets want to CHANGE their offense next season, the trade needs to be Sengun, Cam or Reed plus picks.

If not, stay pat and sign a shooter in FA and make a pick at #10

Right. Kind of wonder what it is that decides that anyway?

It's Sengun, Dillon, Cam and #10. A young all-star, a quality vet, a guy who's shown flash and a top ten pick?? Beat that deal. If someone does, bless em.

Fred back on a lower deal. JoJo Tuggle in the 2nd round.

    Fred - Jalen - Amen - Jabari - Giannis
    Holiday - Reed - Tari - Tuggle - Landale?
Pat Spencer - Garrison Mathews - Nate - Tate - Dante

Next episode of Giannis Watch - GSW A Potential Landing Spot. Windy is reporting that GSW may be in play for Giannis due to his friendship with Steph. Give me a break. Now, Kuminga and Moody are being called 'promising young talents.' Kuminga had his Enes Kanter moment in the playoffs. Pods looked mostly like garbage during the playoffs as well. GSW only has their own FRPs going forward, so with Giannis, most of these would be worthless.

When will the media get off of GSW's D? Giannis is only going to the Warriors if the League is truly scripted. Imagine the best player going to the Bucks in a top-3 playing being Pods. Luckily, GSW do not have ownership of any other team's picks so they can gift MIL a #1 pick. Face it, media the Warriors are done. To be clear, I don't even want Giannis, but for a comparable package as GS, yeah sign me up.

I was just about to post something about this scenario. Man, this cannot happen by any means. We need to go ahead and get Giannis so we don’t take the chance of him joining a team in the west, especially GSW. I don’t know how much more of losing to them I can take.

That is how sport journalism works, they report a whole bunch of stuff and it might not even happen .....Giannis can still change his mind......

Like when his wife tells him that she wants to stay another half year due to her new born.

Even though GS has no business being in the discussion for Giannis, I could see this happening. Only problem is MIL does not have any of their own picks until we colonize the moon, and GS has no picks other than theirs to offer up. How would the league recompense MIL? Imagine selling your fan base on Pods & Kuminga over the next 5 years.

If we offered Sengun, Jalen, Tari, and all of the PHX picks for Giannis and Kuzma, I doubt anyone could top that. You could then use your MLE to sign Brook Lopez.

    PG: VanVleet / Sheppard
    SG: Brooks / Whitmore
    SF: Thompson / Kuzma
    PF: Antetokounmpo / Smith, Jr.
    C: Landale / Lopez

That's a lineup that (i) lets Ime keep Fred and Dillon like you know he wants, (ii) gives Reed an actual role, (iii) has 3pt shooting at the center position to offset Giannis and Amen's lack of range, and (iv) lets Cam and Kuz fight it out for 9th man.

    Yes.
Alpy doesn't have zero value in this equation. He is the kind of centrepiece this trade can be built around. He was a (the?) key piece in the 2nd seed, and MIL might reasonably see further growth around him.

Also I think Brooks stays if Giannis comes in.
