Agreed. Magnetic ink is also a real thing and could be a possibility. There's definitely ways to rig lottery balls.

Too slow a release and starts his motion too low. This really hurts his draft stock if I'm looking to trade up.

I think the league should either lean into divisions OR run away from them entirely. I think I am more favoring the latter at this point.

A big issue is...the Eastern Conference sucks and there is a chance Giannis comes to a western conference team which would eliminate another Eastern competitor in the Bucks and force them into a rebuild.

If they just got rid of the conferences, evened out the games, just make it so the best 16 teams make it in, still keep the play-in, I think you'd see more parity and it would force a lot of mediocre teams in the east to actually compete instead of sneaking in to the playoffs in a noticeably weaker conference. Teams are naturally chasing teams in their conference but one conference sucks while another conference is stacked. The west will be so wild next year that 10 of the teams have a legit shot at being a top 4 seed. The draft is supposed to even this out but honestly a lot of those teams over there are managed poorly.

But yeah, if that is too radical they should lean more into divisions because right now they don't mean anything and the NFL shows that these division games and rival games tend to do good by the NFL, they are exciting, they are competitive, and they do mean lot. The NFLs rotational schedule is simply brilliant.

But I do think Basketball just doesn't lend itself to parity, especially with 7 game series, so much they can do.

I don't think NBA division rivalries are anywhere close to what the NFL division rivalries are, so abolishing divisions in the NBA would be fine by me. Then use the previous year's standings/playoff finishes to add in a stronger SOS for better teams and weaker SOS for worse teams to balance out the records a bit and produce additional in-season quality matchups.

Right now, unlimited money greatly helps to buy the best team (hurting small markets), so maybe some sort of a point system can be devised to govern, rather than just the salary cap.

Ooh, or what if there was a redistribution of home games (+/- 1 or 2)... that could be an interesting tool that helps small market teams and potentially aid in parity.

They're weighed beforehand and put into a locked box before being put in the machine. I know, I know... "the weighing people cheated, too!" (even though they make lottery machines for tons of other lotteries and have everything to lose if busted).

Man, I'm trying to agree with some of y'all for a good conspiracy, but... lol.

He can’t shoot. We spend all this time as rockets fans lamenting over our lack of shooting, and people keep suggesting prospects that can’t shoot…or play defense. The guy shot 27% from 3 in a very weak conference. His ball skills are special and he’s super long, but I don’t see how he’s a fit. I’d rather draft an undersized point guard that can shoot rather than an oversized point guard that can’t.

I watched a lot of BYU games this past season and that kid is far from even being a rotation player right now

Like that line about Bruno Caboclo being two years away from being two years away
    thats this Demin kid.

    Total non shooter right now

Isn't that just getting more people that can't shoot?

I'd prefer Kasparas, but if he's gone, I'm fine with Demin. For Demin to succeed, the shot has to come around though.

3 point percentages from Tankathon's best available at No. 10 (not the best mock draft, but easiest to check stats)
    0.318
    0.292
0.412 (6-footer that doesn't pass the ball, Reed might be able to post him up in practice)
    0.265
    0.294
    0.317
    0.273
    0.317

The chances are good that the Rockets trade out or draft someone who shot poorly last season.

I did take a look at draftexpress combine video and his shooting motion looks pretty good for the 3-pt drill. His 14/25 was similar to the other guards in the lottery range for this year.

Also, the Rockets have gotten sub-par returns on the best shooting prospect of the draft twice with #3 picks. So as long as the coaching staff isn't changing, perhaps the better method is to just take players who are good at other stuffs, cause expecting Ime to maximize the use of our shooters looks to be a lost cause at this point.

I either want to trade up (Jalen and/or Cam) to get Edgecomb or Tre Johnson or trade back (ATL, BROOKLYN, or ORL) to select Fleming and Clayton.

Unless we can trade up for trey or can get Fleming with #10 we should trade out of this draft. We should probably trade out anyway. #10 is probably pretty valuable to someone with a coach that runs a decent offense. If we trade Jalen to one of the coast teams he will be at the free throw line 8-10 times a game and be the star everyone wants. We need shooters and let Amen do the driving. Eventually the story of Amen the twin will be too good for the league to punish him like they do Jalen. Jalen to the Lakers for Reeves and Finney. FVV and picks 4 picks to Phili for Maxey and try to finagle John Collins for a future pick.
    Amen/Reed
    Maxey/Finney
    Dillon/Tari/Cam
    Jabari/Collins
    Sengun/Adams

Still have MLE for another shooter.
