How about something like: To Nets Tari Eason Cam Whitmore #10 To Bucks #8 #19 #26 #27 2027 PHO #1 Jalen Green Dillon Brooks 4 rookies for this year to build around for them and a future pick with a couple of solid starters. Brooklyn looking to not have 4 rookies this year.... may be willing to consolidate...
With Tatum out the east is wide open Giannis would be crazy to come into the west bloodbath. Could the trade happen before fvv decision, so that they get fvv and not renew his contract to get off the money? If that’s possible I see that as an incentive for them and we throw in picks and maybe bari, tari, or cam. Or ya know kd and tyus jones for Arizona or book who we aren’t interested in. I think they fit our needs more than Giannis. Unless we trade amen (hope not) he will give us diminishing returns because he gives us everything amen does but bigger and more experienced. Trading sengun post ups for Giannis post ups isn’t much of an offense bandaid but kd or booker isos are a different story. Either team would love to shed $40+ mil from the books. Fred had a good playoffs so it would make sense to keep him around but from watching all year he had as many good games in the regular season as in the playoffs. We need an offensive engine/shooters and mobile lob threat center. I think it’s short sighted to say that 1 playoff series means means we know everything about this extremely young team. Do you remember the bubble round 1? We played okc and beat them to 7 and dared dort to shoot. I think that’s were we are now. We should trade/let go of our cp3 (fvv) or greatly reduce his role.
If that is what it takes you say no thanks. It is Sengun, and 3 picks max. Take it or leave it. The only 2 teams that can beat that are SA and OKC and I don’t think SA wants to give up the #2 and OKC has absolutely no need or desire (in my opinion) for Giannis. If we trade for Giannis we absolutely have to have some picks leftover to re-balance the roster.
The naivety to authoritatively dismiss the potential that a bunch of 22 year olds have is stunning. Not in a good way. I'm thankful you blessed CF with your presence instead of just being the best talent evaluator and GM in the NBA - which clearly was your other viable option. Ironically, I say this as someone who would be open to trading everyone but Amen for Giannis. But not someone that thinks a group of early 20 something's, w/ a trove of prized draft picks in the holster, that just played to the level of a #2 seed in a stacked Western Conference are imminently headed for decline. Dafuq dude? Really?
Rockets will do the GIANNIS trade, but as the 3rd team. Giannis to Nets Claxton and Thomas to Bucks Rockets send Sengun, Green, Smith, Reed to Bucks Rockets receive 2 first round picks.
Just read through the 1st two pages and everyone seems to be under the assumption that we would need to trade Sengun for Giannis because they won't fit together. Imagine replacing Adams with Giannis in our double big lineup. We would dominate inside with these twin towers and we would terrorize on defense with Amen on the perimeter and Giannis in the paint. Fill the other 2 spots with shooters and you have yourself a championship team. Bench of Reed, Bari (or Tari), Adams, and fillers. I think a package around Jalen, Tari (or Bari if it comes down to it), Cam, all of Phoenix's picks gets it done. You get current potential and some extremely valuable picks.
The rockets got good for 1 year after a long rebuild and Silver ran to help Dallas and Spurs overnight.
Idk. If I am the Bucks I am drafting Harper and the best forward available with the #14 and try to sneak Castle or Vassle in the deal to. Trade Dame & Portis. You could have a fun little rebuild team. I am sure they would get more picks also between Giannis, Dame, and Portis Harper / Rollins KPJ / Trent Jr Vassel/ blah #14 / Smith
They don't fit together. The formula for the most succesful iterations of the Bucks has been to surround non-shooter Giannis, a driving battering ram, with shooters. Lopez? Can Space. Portis? Can space Middleton? Can space Holiday? Can space Jae Crowder? Connaughton?, etc. PJ Freaking Tucker - put him in the corner, he doesnt even move. I'm scanning the last 5-6 Bucks teams - I don't even see a single sub 30% shooter in the Bucks rotation most years. But here, somehow he's going to paly with not one but 2 sub 30% shooters who also have to operate in the paint as his primary running buddies in Thompson & Sengun? Seems unlikely. I also don't think the double big lineup works that well over the long term. It was a good playoff wrinkle. It's fine against crap teams and small old teams like the Warriors, as an 82 game strategy the math probably starts to turn against you when you're ceding 2 for 3 every night. But it was also a symptom of a team that struggled to create high percentage looks and had to double down on offensive rebounding and defense as a result. Also, i'm surprised this needs to be said the Rockets aren't acquiring Giannis with Green as the centerpiece player. It has to be AT LEAST Sengun, if not more.
You're replying to my post like i'm claiming to be an authoritative figure! It's just my opinion. No need to get personal, if you don't like my opinion just say that. I would love to be wrong, but most players drafted in a given lottery are role players at best and out of the league after less than 10 years on average. IN MY OPINION, The Rockets have 2 all star level players at worst out of 7 first round picks. That's likely above league average. Any of the other 5 could be all stars if everything went right but odds are against it. Reed and Cam both have a shot to be much better than what we have seen completely based on opportunity. I would give these two the highest shot of being all star level players completely based on a lack of opportunity. Jabari and Jalen were both gifted extensive playing time early in their careers. Ime came in and maybe gave them some discipline they hadn't seen prior. I could wishcast that Jalen finds consistency and it's more likely than Jabari ever finding his handles, but neither would be given high odds by anyone. Both of these guys would benefit greatly from Giannis and we could see them reach heights not currently imaginable to me. Tari, i had very high hopes for after his rookie campaign but he just plays too out of control and also has the most injury concerns. He's my favorite out of the five because he just plays with so much heart but a super role player seems to be his likeliest ceiling. Players don't magically become other players. They build on what they show. Maybe 1 out of every 20 allstar level players take some jump that wasn't clear by year three. Jaylen Brown is probably the best example right now. I said i think he could be a top 10 player. I just don't see him improving handles and shot enough to be an MVP level player. Mediocrity is probably too strong, but to me, as constructed this team is going to peak at like Atlanta Hawks with Joe Johnson/Al Horford level. I have been wrong before, i will be wrong again. I don't see a player as good as Jalen Brunson or Tyrese Haliburton offensively on this team. There is clearly no Anthony Edwards or SGA out of this bunch either. You need a SUPERSTAR on offense to win championships, this team as constructed and as implemented puts a lot of emphasis on defense, which sadly is way too referee dependent to work to win 16 out of 28 games in May and June. Adding Giannis and keeping Amen + at least 3 of the other 6 prospects not only gives the Rockets an offensive star NOW, it also will allow Amen + 3 or 4 of Reed/Cam/Tari/Jalen/Jabari the luxury of playing in their early 20s next to a superstar taking all of the attention from them (I just can't see Alperen getting to stay which stings)
The tax free incentives must have played a trick on him lol........ East is so much more relaxing.....maybe he just wants to get rid of the Celtics, Pacers.....
I don't agree that Amen won't be a superstar, but I do agree with the point that you're trying to make and I also agree that there's a benefit to having a star now while keeping the highest prospect on our team + others. I am going to be called crazy here, but I do think Amen will be better than SGA/Brunson/Haliburton, not Anthony Edwards in a few years.
these folks have no common sense or no basketball knowledge - just their fav player who as soon as they leave or get traded the person will poof from this forum. I’ve seen it again and again
Amen was my second favorite player in that draft and without a doubt my favorite player the Rockets drafted during this period. I believe SGA is the best offensive guard in the NBA so i'll ignore that one right now. If his offense gets even close to Brunson/Haliburton levels, he's an MVP level player because his defense is already near the top. The team believes he could be all nba sooner rather than later, I don't think you're making all nba scoring less than 18PPG, so at 18PPG-7APG-6RPG with 3 stocks, you're looking a very unique superstar, which I think he'll reach, I just don't see the MVP jump without him scoring 25PPG and that's a big leap!
No one in the right mind would trade for Dame. Portis maybe, but you wont get much. I do think SA will get him if they trade the #2 and #14 2027 Atl pick, Vassel and Sochan. Bucks will have Harper so no need for Castle. The no. 2 pick is key and Giannis wanting to go there. If they won’t trade the #2, we are in the drive seat and may get him for Sengun, Tari and our 2-3 of our best picks. Another dark horse could be Detroit. Ivey, Harris (expiring), Ausur, and 4 picks might do the trick.
