They are very open for business and have been for a long time. The Chinese love American products. They just happen to also make most of them so little need to import them.

It is fair to complain about Chinese companies stealing and violating IP protections. It is fair to say they use unfair labor practices to produce their products cheaper. It is fair to say the Chinese government subsidizes multiple industries (but to be fair all countries do this). It is fair to say China doesn't properly regulate Chinese products. China isn't changing how they operate though. It was actually the one area I had hope for Trump's first Presidency. He didn't deliver then, and he won't deliver now. But the stock market swings will provide opportunities.

 

Trump's budget increases military spending though.

He cuts a lot of other things, including Medicare and extends tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans.

This is why it is hard for me to reconcile what Trump says and does - as they are not always the same.

So far his legislation has consisted of major tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans and not for the working class.

 

Trump lies more than any human being in history, so you shouldn't believe anything he ever says. You should always be doing more than simply believing what you are told, especially when those words would be self-serving. I assume the UK deal eventually gets done, but much like USMCA that Trump negotiated, but now says is a terrible deal, it is really a relatively minor change from previous policy that isn't going to have large effects on either economy. US ethanol industry was the big winner (and UK ethanol industry a massive loser thanks to how cheap US ethanol is due to overabundance of corn).

 

Trump could cure cancer, every communicable disease and bring peace on earth and the D&D haters would still find a way to hate.

Nobody can debate that. Even when he does tell the truth about stuff he does he leaves out the part of about how he or his family benefited off a deal, by the rich putting money into his family's pockets or investing in one of their crypto, golf, or real estate businesses. It's all mixed together, the truth, the lies, and the hidden truth.

 

Well, the last President orchestrated a voter fraud scheme to steal the 2020 election, sent his son around the world to sell access to his office for millions of dollars, and used the courts to launch several court cases where they tried to imprison and bankrupt his political opponent. So the liberals' criticisms of Trump ring hollow compared to what came before him....
