if the rockets wanted a high pick they should have tanked.

    Its as simple as that.

It has more to do with everyone around them getting better than Rockets get much worse, they are just treading waters as we speak for now.

    For now.

Disagree with being simple here, worse record holder Utah tanked......all they got was the 5th pick and not Flagg.

I am sure they were after Flagg or at least Dylan Harper.

Washington and New Orleans also lost.

Let us hope that actual basketball gods exist and karma comes back to the spurs in the form of wemby's blood clot issues actually becoming career ending.

It would not be because of blood clots....it is treatable now .... there is whole lot of other stuff out there.

    A ****ING MEN!!!!

We are wasting time thinking that we will eventually get there, we have the pieces, it is time to flip the roster, we have too many guys that need playing time that can't get on the court already.

We don't need more draft picks, we need to trade 2 for 1, and get our roster more balanced.

Don't sit tight, the bus will drive right on by.

Get rid of FVV, get rid of Dillon Brooks, trade 2 of our core for an upgrade, balance the roster with offensive players.

I think the Rockets need to stick with their guys and continue developing from within. Sengun and Amen for sure are all-stars. Jabari is a great high-end role player that still hasn’t reached his ceiling yet . And we have to stretch out the leash and see what we have in Reed and Cam before putting them into trade packages. Let them develop and allow them to grow and make mistakes like they did for Jalen because I feel at least one of them will be a special player. We just have to keep up because we’re not getting any good draft picks anymore and getting 30 something yr old stars are great for the time being but that is just a bandaid. Once they fall off and the team is gutted then what? The Spurs and Mavs will still have Wemby and Flagg, so we have to keep up and continue developing our young guys and hope at least one of them besides Sengun and Amen turn out to be really special.

It's a good point, this is why I feel like Durant would be the best move.

He's a veteran and still an all-star level player, lots to learn from, can help the team get better and also shouldn't cost much more other than a salary match with FVV or Brooks, maybe Jalen, this #10 pick, that seems fair to me. They get prospects back, get their pick back, and they ain't doing anything with Durant any ways except wasting his last few years in the NBA.

We had Harden, we had Westbrook, now its time to finish off the old OKC trio with the slim reaper.

    Bring him home.

We need Reed Sheppard to become the next darling golden child of the NBA so that Adam Silver goes out of his way to rig everything for us.

They had players who had elite shot making talent.
    We don't have that.

When exactly were we in front of the Thunder for them to zoom past us? They started rebuilding before we tanked?

The only sure avenue to a no. 1 pick is gifting your superstar to the Lakers, see Mavs, Pelicans.
But we can't do we as we do not have one unfortunately...

Pfffft we haven't won in the last 30 years.
Panicking and going for the biggest names could fk us like it did the suns and nets.

I rather develop our young talent and go from there.

What on earth are you talking about???

The Rockets haven't maxed out ANYTHING? They literally Rocketed in 1 season from like the 11th send to 2nd seed. Did you see that coming? Was that YOUR expectation in a deep West? No, and it wasn't anyone else's here. We were all shocked.

Now that the Rockets, with a ton of super young players who are still not even in their prime yet and some full of tremendous untapped potential have made it to the playoffs for the very first time in their young careers, it's time time to gut the team and find someone who can win a championship next year.

I would have loved to see you argue that point to Popvich when he had Duncan, Parker and Ginobili and Bowen, etc and they lost a playoff series, which they did. You'd tell Pop to clean house and go find a super star. You know they won 5 championships over a15 year span because they had young guys that they developed and stuck to. Pop ground the game plan into them year over year over year and not one of their championships was back-to-back.

What you have to say is short sighted and foolish. Rockets need to hold tight and keep developing these guys. The bar is very high now.

Is this serious? That lineup ain’t making it to the second round much less the Finals in the next 100 years in the West which keeps getting better and better thanks to Silver.

Adam Silver is a great commissioner who does what is best for the success of the NBA. We all are upset that he rigged the lottery, but it needed to be done for league survival. You don’t want to be watching playoff basketball on TBS at noon on workdays (like MLB). The sport we love is because of Silver and nobody else. Luca to Lakers is a prime time move and certainly evens out the trade when it ends up being Doncic for Davis and Flagg. Wembly is the next mega superstar and nobody wants to see him playing with a bunch of scrubs….last night and last year helps to speed up the process and ultimately will save the future of the NBA. Silver is doing what his job demands which is keeping this league relevant!!! News flash is that the Rockets haven’t been relevant for 30+ years and aren’t taken seriously. The future of the NBA is the Lakers, Celtics, OKC, and the Spurs. Those are the teams casual fans care about. Nobody knows we exist outside of Houston. I see Wembly, Lebron, Shae, Gia, Doncic jerseys all the time….never seen a Jalen Green or Dillon Brooks jersey. Nobody cares about the Rockets and we (thanks to ownership) haven’t made any splash moves in years and years. We’ll continue to be competitive and be someone else’s first round fodder and the NBA will thrive in popularity with the new Spurs, Mavs, Lakers, OKC on Amazon, NBC, ABC, and ESPN. Those are the facts.

I don't think we can get a superstar at a price that will make sense, so I think we're mostly stuck waiting for internal improvement. Not a great situation to be in with other teams getting a lot better.

I would be happy if we could at least land some solid 3 and D players to at least marginally improve. I don't have a good sense of who that would be though.
