its because even though all teams aren't valued the same ... when the overall pie grows, so does theirs.

Rockets sold for 2.2 bil , Celtics recently 6 . How much was Dal again ?

As much as some of the billionaires want to win. Pure ownership in the club is nice , and you can go for it every now and then regardless of if you get gifted the number 1. Maybe there are years where its rigged and years where its not rigged.

But, the league as a whole is rigged; from refs, to draft, to finances

Unless they release the ball combinations for each team before the draft, they could just draw any four balls and say "Dallas!"

Hard to quantify everything that can happen between 3-9 picks. We're used to guessing between 1 or 2 guys. Feels like #10 is pretty wide open.

I mean, Knueppel or Johnson available I'd be happy with a shooter but unlikely either one falls that far. Maluach may go before 10 but him being there is also not a huge drop or anything, I'd love to have his size and rim running. Richardson would be a bit of a reach but I think would work too, good shooter and decent defensive metrics. Dark horse: Thomas Sorber. Big and strong dude, long arms and good defense.

Look at those two columns. ‪NBA league office is definitely siding with Democrats over Republicans. ‬

At this point, it's best just to try predicting the NBA's script the next couple of seasons

Every team represented has a list of possible combinations assigned to them and in front of them during the draw from what I recall. Like I said, they would have to be in on it. Not saying they aren't, but damn, that's a lot of mouths to keep shut over the years. lol.

remember when AD had a Hornets hat on before the actual lottery? Going back to this issue after today makes me realize that the lottery is actually rigged 100%

I'm not even mad that we landed at #10, like nine, ten, whatever--odds were not in our favor to move up.

If I were one of the bottom 4 or 5 teams for lotto odds I'd be pissed. More than anything else, this is stealing from them. Got Dewey, Cheetham, and Howe over there rigging things up for Silver and robbing from the poor to give to the rich.

Ok, memory's off on that one. Getting old sucks. But I do remember we've jumped a bit in a couple of recent lotteries. We had a 1.8% chance of getting #3 last year and a 7.4% chance of entering the top three from the 12th spot. Admittedly not the greatest draft ever, but still.

Hitting on those sorts of odds two years in a row would be more than a little fishy too.

Houston hasn't hit any home runs in the lottery, but I would bet that we are doing better than the statistics suggest we should have since we've moved on from Harden.

Once upon a time Dallas traded Robert Tractor Traylor to the Milwaukee Bucks for Dirk Nowitzki on draft night. Could we see the Mavs go all in and trade Cooper to MIL for Giannis? "Defense wins championships" AD/Giannis would be a defensive duo for the ages..if AD stays healthy of course.

The lottery is a joke. The NBA rigged the lottery for Dallas to win after that disastrous trade with the Lakers. The NBA did the same thing for the Knicks so that they could draft Patrick Ewing. I'm not a conspiracy theorists, but to believe the Mavericks were awarded the 1st pick with a 1% chance to win, you have to be extremely naive.

I could care less about Mavs and Spurs moving up, I’m just glad BKN didn’t get a significant upgrade this season by trading back their picks from us. BKN 27 swap and future PHX picks just got more valuable tonight
