That may be so. Magic Johnson improved into a 89-91% free throw shooter with that wonky shot put shooting form and yet he shot also shot 38% from 3 one season with 3.5 attempts. The % came back down, but with enough training and focus, Magic like would be a 38-40% spot up 3 pt shooter. Again, he wouldn't be a dynamic off the ball shooter-or maybe he would? That All Star game return after the HIV-he was just heaving it from awkward positions and it was nothing but the bottom of the net every time IIRC.

Jason Kidd improved his ft% every year and as he did so came his spot up 3 reliability. Karl Malone improved FT% from putrid to a highly serviceable high 70s % which given his deep mid range money-he likely would be reliable from 3 with enough focus on it.

Problem here is Alpy has actually gotten worse after being stagnant for 2 seasons. As did his 3pt%
Yeah, he may never become reliable as a stretch big.

I do love his strengths and i do feel it is much more important to our success for Amen to be the one to improve his terrible shooting. At 68% FT and 27% from 3. I mean i mentioned JKidd which had a similar start, but it took him until his mid to late 30s to develop into reliable. THe decade before that it was inconsistent and up and down each year from average to really bad. Will Amen still be a Rocket if he ever finds a reliable shot?

^ this. If it's putting shooters around him, over half the team will have to be gutted.

Is there a scenario where we trade Green and the Suns picks back to PHX to Booker. Then Sengun, Tari, Reed, the Nets and Mavs picks to Milwaukee for Giannis and then run out the following lineup next year:

    Fred-Booker-Amen-Giannis-Jabari

Maybe we even try to upgrade the shooting in the starting lineup and move Amen to PG and Brooks to the starting lineup.

The bucks are a sinking ship; Kuzma and kpj are the only young-ish guys in their rotation, they can’t draft to save their lives, and they do not have control of their draft picks until years from now. Oh and dame has an almost 60M dollar player option next season too.

How can they still have faith in Jalen at this point? It's ****ing weird.

Well, Stone picked him #2 overall, if they admit they don't have faith in him

    1. It is admitting Stone's failure.

    2. It makes it harder for them to dump him.

If we can get him that cheap then I'd actually probably consider it. I think that's as much of a pipe dream as getting him for a trade centred around Jalen too if I'm honest. I think we'd probably have to give them Amen and maybe both Amen and Sengun, or just so many of our players that it's not even worth it.

Exactly...trying to get as much as possible in value for Green...and feigning lack of interest in the true target to bring the price down.

They don’t. They just don’t want his trade value to go even lower.

They know MORE than you and I do. And the fact that it just makes sense.

A 23yr old at $33M vs a 29/30 yr old who at $66M, the later seemed to have reached his peak, whereas the 23yr old who is improving.

The money is literally the only reason I can see. We were a Devin Booker away from a legitimate contender this year tbh, if Jalen could've done what Booker does we'd likely still be playing ball.

How do you give Kevin Porter Jr an $82 million extension? You overvalue your homegrown guys:

“We value the player and the person that Scoot is becoming and are eager to invest in him and his journey,” said General Manager Rafael Stone.

It’s simple, the centerpiece will be built around Sengun. (the only All Star on our team)
