This is fair, what I wonder is why after Crane fired Click, why he didn't circle back and hire Petula or another Luhnow protege? Or are other MLB teams allowed to hire Luhnow's proteges but not Crane?
As far as I know the Astros can hire protégés. Brown was the top candidate in baseball though coming off rebuilding the Braves farm system and draft after success doing the same in Toronto. Crane supposedly genuinely likes Brown, so that is probably part of it as well.
I think Luhnow embarrassed Crane. Crane did not want any talk about any chance he was willing to return to a Luhnow-like culture.
I think you should mind your own f-ing business and not dictate to anybody else whether they are entitled voice an opinion or not. Are you the moderator? Have any of us violated rules of this forum?
Nope. I just think this is kiddie little bullshit: I think Luhnow embarrassed Crane. (no ****?) Crane did not want any talk about any chance he was willing to return to a Luhnow-like culture.++ (no ****?)
And because you have this opinion you decided it was OK to tell me to " shut the f*** up"? You didn't want to read it, so you decided to tell me not to write it? In short, if you don't want to read it, it should not be posted?
Elias may be available soon… which other Luhnow protege has been killing it elsewhere (at least ones the Astros may have had access to)? There are no other Luhnow’s because he’s unique in his strategies and ambitions… which is also what led to his downfall and getting banned.
Elias is probably getting the same kind of threats that McCullers is getting. He is hated in Baltimore. Absolutely loathed. Hyde too. It’s bad.
I try to stick to the game and not insult our brethren, some members I avoid back and forth altogether, no need to stoop low and waste valuable brain energy on them, too much **** in life more important. A select few I'm ok with being told to STFU, case in point Buck, Tom, at least they're sincere with their "STFU" and will apologize when out of line.
As for Bregman, I'm happy for him however I do wonder if his "slow start" will manifest in reverse as a "falling off" as we get deeper into the season. Boy will that piss off the fan base in BOS if he wilts down the stretch and in the PS.....
Gotta get back to those strategies and ambitions if the Stros want to keep the dynasty going. BTW, what were those strategies/ambitions?
Yet he's brought that franchise the most success it's had in the last 15-20 years. Fans pretty much believe whatever the media puts out there, which is sad.
Well injuries to the rotation have been an issue but Elias overall has done a pretty horrible job outside of the #1 picks and first rounders. There is lots I could go into but I’m not gonna bore an Astro board with Orioles crap. Long story short- the criticism is definitely fair. Elias may be in over his head as a GM.
Like I said, they've won more with Elias as GM than any other GM over the last 2 decades. But I guess that doesn't matter to some. Bottom line is Luhnow's methods work. Look at Stearns. Milwaukke is still a very good team despite being a low budget org, thanks to Stearns.
