You are right that all seasons count the same for AAV in the CBT, but no way Hunter gets $25M per year in arbitration. He will get something between $25M - $40M total for all 3 years. If you are extending an extension offer based on him getting $25M per season in arbitration, you are overpaying $35-50M before negotiations even start. That's a terrible value for the Astros. Offer him what you expect him to make across 3 arbitration seasons + $30-35M per FA season.
you gave up 2 hits to Joe Connor. JOE CONNOR.................... a career journeyman. i guess there's a reliever punching bag every year for the astros.
Rodgers striking out with a runner on 3rd and less than 3 outs is really pissing me off. Back to back games.
Yes. Alex got a $10M signing bonus. Then $11M each of 2020-2022 ( $33M for 3 arb yrs) and $28.5M for each of the 2 FA bought out. Yordan got a $5M signing bonus. Then $7M, $10M, $15M ($32M total for 3 arb seasons) then $26M each for his 3 FA seasons bought out.
Brendan rodgers is such a swing happy dude. swings at balls but stare at strikes. How were you a top 5 pick?
Our run-diff didn't suffer too much, so at least there's that. Glad the offense didn't just roll over. Lance's new role might be a multi-inning guy in the bullpen -- but even then, his control is an issue.
Alex got 5/100 and avoided arbitration. (not really interested in how they broke it up. Not sure why that matters) so 6/150 for a dominant ace, a few years later seems in line. He is overpaid in his arb years and underpaid in his first 3 FA years.
We truly have some dumb fans. ...but it also makes me wonder if it will get worse if sports gambling increases.
