Derik Queen has some duplicative skills with Sengun, but he probably has better handles and already has a mid-range game. He’s a very good passer and rebounder as well. Not saying he’s gonna be better than Sengun, but I think he’s a high-floor prospect who will come in ready to contribute offensively day 1. If he gets to #9 he’s probably the BPA.
I've already seen enough. I stopped at the 2:19 mark. He does a lot more than Sengun and I would.love to get him BUT we can't go backwards. The Rockets are at a stage where they need VETERANS. Trade the pick, along with FVV and get a legit scorer to put in the starting lineup
I agree but we have no idea what will occur this offseason. The roster could be significantly reconfigured and Sengun could be moved. We could empty a lot of our prospect cupboard. Not saying I want that to happen, but we just don’t know. I’m just thinking that Queen is one of the safest picks in the draft. He might turn out to be the Sengun of this draft. And if that’s the case you wouldn’t pass him up regardless of who was already on your roster.
I don't think the Rockets should be interested in the 9th pick. If they don't have lottery luck I'd like to see them package #9 with Cam to move up for a top 5 pick. Edgecomb....
If you're trading Alpy, this pick's likely part of the deal. But if you keep it and Sengun's gone? Take the shot on Derik Queen. He might have more upside anyway.
Great offensive player within 10ish feet, mediocre midrange shot, doesn't really rebound, can't play defense for **** Sounds like a Rocket?
Yet another "Baby Jokic" according to the video I jsut posted. They're everywhere .... and yet.... nowhere.
I think he’s a very skilled big offensively. Great post moves and the handles and passing are unique for a big. But I can’t help but be intrigued by Sorber. Those measurements are unreal with that 7’6” wingspan and the great defense and rebounding. He would provide some nice minutes behind Sengun. I actually think this is a really strong class for bigs. No superstar bigs but a lot of guys with tools. Some good ones likely available at the end of the 1st round as well.
Sorber would be an outstanding trade-down candidate. Let Adams school him for a year. I still like Maluach if he falls to 10, which is looking highly unlikely ...and you're absolutely right about the depth of big men in this draft class
